I have RE003 on mine. 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rears. Very quiet and the handling is very good in the dry.
If you ring the Bridgestone shops, usually they are ready to give you a discount with warranty.

You also can't do a PPI on a car you are planning on importing yourself, whereas the one from the dealer you can do a PPI for peace of mind.

buy mineYou have a 540i E39 manual for sale?
-
case would rather throw an E34 around over an E39 any day, no mater what engine.Yeah good point but there's an E28 M535i sitting in the garage that would be my preferred option for some fun driving. The E39 would be more for daily duties, or the plan is.
E39 vs E34, I prefer the looks of the E39 to be honest. But each to their own I suppose.

Cheers for the replies. Yeah, looking at factory manual setup rather than conversions. But still tempting aja540i.
Haven't seen any on trademe but will keep an eye out.

Is the same car you brought to the meet yesterday Martin? Didn't just look good but it sounded absolutely fantastic! GLWS, wish I had the moolah for it.
-
I am guessing these are quite rare. Would someone know how many of these are in New Zealand?
After seeing Brent's 540i and Martin's E39 M5 (sounds amazing too) I think I am getting the E39 bug for a daily.
Thanks.

Hi James out of curiosity what was the rust like when you sold it? Because the car is almost at a state of it just isn't simply logical to fix the rust as its that bad it really suits a re shell nowThat's always sad to hear. But still beautiful to look none the less.

You might get lucky with BM World, Papakura, Auckland. Brent is very helpful and he knows a thing or two in regards to upgrading E28s. There's also a white M535i on trademe sold for parts. Not sure if the suspension is available, you could do a deal and get the shocks, springs & sway bars.

Have you guys tried registering and then opening the site?

A NZ New M3 with under 100,000 km (just) just sold on TM for $22700. Not feeling 18k worth of love for the 330.Wow, E46 M3s are slowly dropping in price. Yep 18k for a 330ci in this day and age is quite the asking price.

Sorry for the hijack, but what's the ride like with those springs? I've never heard of that brand before, but it seems like a good price (for a German company )
I am happy with mine. A little harsh compared to the mtech springs. I think if you're planning to drive it on the street only, they are good enough. But if you are gonna track it, maybe stick to the stock Mtech springs or get hold of Dinan springs.
-
Yep those are the ones.
I haven't tried opening mye28 on my phone or ipad but works on the laptop.
The meets are located all over the country. There's a section dedicated to it on the forum under 'Meetings'.

You might have to register to gain access to the website. The website seems to be working for me.
Owned the M535i for 6 months now, thinking of doing a brake upgrade (E34 540i brakes) and getting the lips on the wheels polished
If you can, you should come to some BMW meets.

Nice and lovely colour too! Will look absolutely gorgeous with the Rc090/style 5 wheels.
If you're planning on lowering the car may I suggest AP lowering springs from german ebay, costs $240 total NZD including shipping! 40mm drop up front 30mm at the back and not too harsh either. Mate them with Bilstein shocks from e28 M535i and you will have a great handling platform.
There's also mye28.com forums with great advice dedicated solely to the e28.

Price will be around $300 to $350 dependent on condition of wheels. My apologies for asking a silly question but is that $300/$350 per wheel or for all fours?

its a good looking car, and as good as the photo are i dont think you are doing the car justice by using whatever processing or filter you have on themHave to agree with this, if you could make the colours 'pop' and bring the violet out more. A tip I was given was sunrise/sunset are the best times to take photos as they bring the colours out.
But nice car nonetheless. Is the kit standard?
