  1. Evening everyone,

I have had a couple of messages sent to me, one through the e28 forum and the other through Instagram. Two different parties, located in Netherlands and U.K. asking about the M535i that I own and if it's for sale. The car made it onto the e28 calendar and I have some pics of it on my IG 'rohandam' but I have not advertised it for sale. Now, for sh!ts and giggles I replied depends on the offer made. I got one offer for 8000 euros excluding shipping. Interesting.

The M535i is nowhere near as a collectible as an E30 M3 or an E28 M5 but the M535i are quite popular overseas. But why would you want a car that's on the other side of the world?

Sometimes things can be too good to be true. So I am curious, do you guys get random people sending you these messages? Or, have you actually sold a car to an overseas buyer and if you don't mind providing details of the process involved, for future reference.

    Regards.

  2. I'm so proud to be her Dad. Kerrins first aerobatic solo. She only got her PPL about six months ago, has 2 seater and 4 seater ratings and now she's into the extreme stuff.

Nice work! All the best to her. She's on the right path by the looks of it.

The R2160 is a very good aircraft. I did some aerobatics in one in Melbourne during my instructing days.

  3. Unfortunately I'd say even with the decent tyres, you're asking quite a bit over what anyone would be willing to pay- They're not very desirable BBS wheels.

Realistically you'd be lucky to get 600-700 for them

Fair enough. I will see how the auction goes, if they don't sell, I will obviously have to lower the price.

  4. For Sale: 17" BBS wheels 17x8 ET15. 5x120 with 71.56 mm bore. One BMW cap is slightly loose and one wheel has minor curbing as shown in the pics.

Included with the wheels, Nitrogen filled RE002 tyres, 225/45/17 all around and they have 5mm tread depth.

Listed them on trademe. I am also open to offers from bimmersport members.

  5. Yup, I'd be stopping ya in the street to talk about your car too. Very nice.

Always welcomed! It's the ones that make comments like "Mean ride G, should drop it on some 20s and some bags, look real Gangsta" that get a bit annoying.

Aww man nice photography, fair enough....i'd be investigating such a fine example

    Cheers mate.

  6. G'day,

Took the old girl today for a ride to the city and to watch the sunset. I have owned her for three months, and it's an absolute pleasure driving her. She does get a little extra attention, unfortunately.

  7. Was the car correctly loaded for the alignment and what condition are teh suspension bushes in.

A poked control arm bush in the X5 accounted for .3 degrees difefrence in camber on the front.

If you really want to get it sorted take it to some one who wants to sort it , not just do a wheel alignment by the book.

Thanks for your reply 3pedals. The machine was the Hawkeye laser alignment machine. The workshop just printed the report and didn't charge me as they said it would be unfair as they didn't do anything.

I just put new wheels on it along with some new springs and brake pads and discs. The next step was to go check the alignment. The rear bushes were replaced a year ago and the rest of the suspension seems to be in good order. I had a good look underneath along with couple of friends who are mechanically minded with knowledge of BMWs. I am taking the car on Monday to BM Workshop in Botany.

  8. So, took the old girl in today to get a wheel alignment done. Both places I went to said that on the e28 you can only adjust the toe and not the camber or caster.

That's got me looking for a camber and caster correction kit for the front and the toe correction kit for the rear. Just curious if there are any other options.

    Appreciate everyone's responses.

    Regards
