Timing is everything... dammit.

Aurion's are 3.5.... 200kw from *memory.
*you are hereby advised to take with the proverbial grain of salt.

I likey... something like this may be in my forseeable future.

That's a great looking wagon - and doubtless very different from much of what you'd see there... most of my Texan driving references come from watching far too much Top Gear and more than a little Fast n Loud - which I'm sure doesn't represent most of the population
-
Beaut looking wee car - but that price, for a 325; optimistic. At best.
Having said that - it only takes one...

Sorry to hear Jeremy. I don't know of anything/where at the moment unfortunately... though I agree with Olaf re Pilmuir House as a short term (or longer) option.

If only I was in the market - this would be a great daily runner. It's even in Wellington. So close but yet not close enough. Dammit.

I was drooling over this last night... very nice.

That is lovely - aside from those JDM monsoons.

I like it too.
But I don't $15k like it.

Wow, that's an insight... my inner bogan is having an identity crisis!

This reads like an episode of Pawn Stars.
(and to be clear, that's not a good thing )

Not for a couple of months 'til we sell ours please. Ta!

I still lust after a 325ti - the odd one pops up on Tard Me but they're usually stupid money.

Depends on what's an acceptable commute vs whats an optimal rental spend - and also how/where each of you would like to live.
Newlands has plenty of reasonable sized housing for the $$$ and is relatively close to the CBD. The other thing you could consider is something in the Hutt near the train line, so your other half's commute is a lot easier, and yours is a lot shorter.
There's compromises everywhere it's up to the two of you to decide how they rate against one another.

Looks a great buy, GLWS.

I don't even think of those as Mini's... As much as I dislike the "bigger" Mini's, at least they add something. And I'm no stylist but my goodness - if they're not the ugliest modern car on the road, what is? Quite likely designed by a 22yr old design grad with his pants around his knees, his snapback on backwards, and no drivers license.

I saw the BMW Oxford one over the weekend, where they assemble (most) Mini's... was bluddy interesting, in particular the number of people involved... and almost makes me want one lol.

GLWS Greg - hope you get what you need to move forward... would be keen to buy a seconf fiver off you but house build takes precedence (sadly) haha!

Hi Mark
It would be helpful if you let people know which part of NZ you'd prefer (or consider) to be located - otherwise most of us will probably assume the North Shore of Auckland
All the best - and if you do come anywhere near Wellington, please bring some sunshine!

Cheers John - was being tongue-in-cheek... unfortunately the timing isn't right yet. Got a house to build, then an existing one to sell first; that's when I'll be ready/able to get something more german with another couple of cylinders (that'll be much happier with a daily commute from Whitby-L/Hutt rather than my current couple of km's).
Looks a great buy for the right person - all the best with it

Damn and bother... timing... this would be ideal for my next Beemer - anyone want to buy a bargain Accord Euro for the shopping run or oher half? lol... GLWS @Herbmiester

My current commute is 2.7kms from Waiwhetu to Seaview - and around three minutes, which barely warms the car up. I'm hoping to walk it and am nearly at the point where I'll give it a go (there are medical reasons why it's a little more challenging than the norm, but I'll get there).
Currently, we have in a tiny ex-state shoebox which we've added a little value to in recent years and are now upsizing... once we've built a new place in Whitby (for similar reasons as outlined in OP, I'm mid 40's, so we want low maintenance and a little more space, warmth, mod cons), my commute will be around 45kms, much of which will be open road (yay).

Would not touch that with someone elses barge pole. Even if it was less than half the price.
