Looks like they're on the rebound back up following the E30's: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1756592930.htm?rsqid=4503e718c77641af8d2623f1524180ba

Welcome!
E91's are certainly the biz (even those without hairdryer's haha).

Welcome Bozza; no relation to Bosnich then? haha - I recognise where those pics of Jane were taken only too well! Shame about the Alfa - I had a (poxy) 147 and to this day it remains one of the sweetest driving manual cars I've ever owned... it's a duty to tick the Alfa box at some point!
Enjoy!

G'day and welcome Steve - nice wee wagon (well, not literally)... have been thinking about one of these for my next upgrade. I bet it's a blast over the hill!

So... if you had $15k to spend and wanted fun (or 4 exhausts) then this would be at/near the top of the list. Of course, if you were all about pace you'd go a 335 and hope it didn't lunch itself (cos you'd have nothing left for maintenance/upgrades).

Go an e91... I know of one that's available

Sure, no Msport/Mtech bits but looks a well cared for NZ new 325i... at a seemingly reasonable price. Would be a great little daily or a base upon which to "make it your own" if desired:

Any feedback Graham?
I hate the dreaded "feedback" convos - especially those you get at 5pm on a Friday like I did last week lol!

The most unexpected thing for me was the driving position and how comfortable it was, I've never driven anything remotely like a "crossover", only the occasional SUV and ute. The greater distance between the floor and the seat squab probably (unknowingly) put me in a better (more upright) posture.

Took my car into Winger Bimmer today for a couple of WoF related bits n bobs and they gave me a loan car. It was a (oxymoron alert) demo Mini Countryman and I'm ashamed to say I actually liked it.
1.5 litres with attached hair dryer - high riding, easy access, a bit of room (for a small car)... ok performance around town and reasonable handling too (no, it's not a track car), good connectivity, visibility, safety, economy, and a bluddy comfortable driving position with plenty of head and leg room (not that I'm a tall unit but those who are would appreciate it.
After years of derision of any Mini that isn't actually mini, I think I get it now.
Would I buy one? Well; of all the ways that immediately spring to mind of how to spend $50-odd k; of course not. But I can see why some people would. I may need an intervention.

Damn - if someone bought my e91 (see the For Sale topic) this could be a great option... and local too.
Bozza: not sure re PPI... have mine booked in at Winger for a WOF this week and am considering a pre-emptive PPI on it too (just not sure I wanna flush $225 down the dunny), if I do it I'll let you know. FWIW I bought an e39 from someone on here and it was almost exactly as described. And you know the person is enthusiastic about their vehicles or they wouldn't be here... and that's especially important for any older Bimmer. Good luck with it!

Congrats, welcome and well done!

I am a new member to this forum and about to buy my first BMW. I am planning on buying a z4 that comes with soft top. Its 2006 modal and had done 100k. What does everyone suggest that I should look for before buying it from a dealer in Auckland.
Many thanks in advance.

1- Yes, go with the independent.
2- Can you predict the future? In general, yes - it will give you peace of mind.
3- It seems a little optimistically priced (you could get my e92 330i for not much more ?)
4- (and most importantly) how are you going to use the car and does that suit a diesel? Are you better with a petrol? Or another type of vehicle with likely running costs? Follow your own instinct.
