  1. UPDATE: just pulled door cards out the boot, thankfully they look alrite... Dirty but not too damaged. HOWEVER... Put the rear seat up after clearing the boot and the centre seatbelt has pretensioned!!! Not a single f**king piece of this trim is right! That's yet more time and money for somebody to hopefully be able to sort the seatbelt! Not impressed at all... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Bought a black leather Motorsport trim of TradeMe a while back and had a weekend in Auckland with a view of getting it fitted yesterday... (Bought and fitted at same place) ... That was EASILY the biggest waste of $2000 and a day EVER! (Paid $1500 for trim) We were told headlining and seats would take 2 people around 2 hours to complete. We were happy enough with that, still a lot but $320 to see it done right was worth paying. After being quoted 8-10 hours to do the lot we said we would like to save costs and I would do door cards etc. We left the car at 9:30 and were told they would ring in a couple of hours when it was done... At 12:30 (3 hours in) we hadn't heard anything so we thought we would just swing by. We were told that a few of the brackets in the headliner were different so they needed to be swapped over but that's all good as nobody was to know and that it would be about another hour. (Seats were 'IN' at this point but I raised concern about time/cost accumulating, I was told not to worry) so away we went for another hour and sure enough we received a call at 1:15 saying it was done and to come back in 15-30 minutes. We got back to the garage at 1:30 and the owner said that he hadn't seen a 1 series with manual seats before and the leather is electric and it had taken longer.... Twice as long as he told us at 9:30 when we dropped the car off. He wanted to charge us 8 hours labour at $640... I stayed calm and had a discussion with him about the fact he hadn't communicated the fact the the labour bill would DOUBLE throughout the day and we were clear at 9:30 when leaving the car that we didn't want to pay $640-$800 for 8-10 hours work. He lost it giving it a 'f**k sake' this and a 'f**k sake' that... Again I remained calm and told him I was trying to have a conversation with him and he wasn't helping ... Anyway...that got us nowhere.... That's not the worst of it though... EVERYTHING they have done is damaged or doesn't work!!! â¢The headliner is ripped and sagging. •The front interior light stayed on constantly (we had to tape over it to stop it distracting me while driving 8 hours back to Wellington then remove the bulb once home to avoid draining the battery) •The centre interior light didn't work with the switches - when you touched it or hit a bump it flickered (had to remove this on the way home to avoid distraction) •Neither of the lights in the vanity mirrors work anymore. •My seat (drivers seat) DOESN'T MOVE at all!!! They didn't wire the seat module up as we were doing it 'on a budget' in the owners words. (We were never given an option of have module wired at XX cost so trim is functional) They ran power to it to put it in position for me to drive! •As the module isn't wired up the passenger airbag won't work as passenger occupancy sensor takes a signal from the module (in the end I was so over it I told them I would just have to take the car and the risk of airbags not working... With a 7 month pregnant partner! Not my greatest decision but a rock and hard place come to mind) •Airbag and seatbelt lights on the dash as can't reset without wiring and coding the module! Overall really really unhappy, disappointed and angry at the whole thing... Had he communicated that the swap was complex but he needed more time to make it right I could have paid to have the module wired etc So now we have a horribly mis-match interior with nothing working when we gave them the car with a matching trim with full functionality. Had he rang when he realised the seats were difficult and needed wiring etc we could have decided to either hold off and leave the grey trim in or come to an arrangement then and there to fit the lot.... The owner has offered support to get the rest of the work done (wiring diagrams etc.) but not easy doing it remotely 8 hours down the road... looks like more money to get it sorted. I haven't even looked at the condition of the door cards that are currently still in the boot... Not naming the place on here. As that's not right in my opinion, just wanted to share my experience and provide context so hopefully people in Welly can help provide solutions. I will send the owner an email outlining my concerns and disappointment privately (not necessarily looking for compensation but certainly acknowledgement of poor communication/service yesterday) I will look to get it sorted down here ASAP. Anybody know a place in Wellington that will wire and code the drivers seat module or even somebody who could help me wire it?!? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm up in Auckland this weekend otherwise would have been there! Might pop for a look at the style 162s while I'm up here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Always loved these.... And don't see many sets for sale They look AWESOME on E46 and E90 just not sure about on an E87... Think they look a little boring?!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks man! Which carpark? Feels like I spend half my salary on bloody car parking at the minute haha Think I agree that it looks better in person than in photos, the wheels have put me in a bit of a situation. As I said above id love to change them for something 'special' but the fitment of the current 209s is almost perfect! And can't find anything with friendly offsets that is as wide. Those 18" BBS RCs that sold on here would have been perfect but I was too slow! Haha
  6. Thanks mate. Absolutely no urgency for the centre cap as got no use for it! Haha
  7. Good evening. Been a 'user' on here for a while but never got around to getting a progress thread up. My name is Luke (nickname pidge) originally from Newcastle NE England now living in Wellington. Been brought up around BMs thanks to my dad. Been in NZ 3 years now and around a year ago decided it was time to buy something 'decent' I had a very strict budget and shopped around, my search left me with either a decent 1 series or a high km mk5 golf gti. Bought the car 'blind' from Auckland as got a good deal on it and 2 year warranty. Drove it back to Wellington. When we first got it home.... Wasn't long before the itch to change it started and bought some 18s 18x8.5 style 209s off an E70 X5 Then I got a little birthday present from my dad back in the UK... H&R 60/40 spring kit! Had seen internet pics of how they sat with this kit fitted and looked awesome...so glad I decided on 60/40 over the 40/30 in the end! Chucked them in and it sat like this... Since then all I have done is added 10mm spacers to the rear and driven it. Oh and had a roof rack for a week.... Haha Up in Auckland this weekend for the next 'big' progress update so keep your eyes peeled. Future plans: •Bigger spacers for the rear •Tidy up bodywork (been hit twice while parked!) •New windscreen as got a big dirty chip thanks to a truck driver in the Wairarapa. •Wheel refurb •Maybe change the wheels if I can find something 'special' and a good fit. It's Noting special but does the job and I like it! Let me know what you guys think Thanks, Pidge Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    E36 M3 Project

Personally I'm pretty undecided I like it because it continues the theme of the car perfectly but just feel it looks 'unfinished' without a bumper. Custom rear air dams like that 1 series would be unreal! Looking forward to seeing further progress Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Spotted in the city, sits really nice! Anybody on here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
