  1. You are doing quite well! My EJ20tt smashes a tank of gas around the Dunedin hills, between 300 - 350 kms about 400 - 500 open road Sorry Jeremy Clarkson
  2. I know...Jay Z is even a little jealous. When i was a young fella at Uni i couldn't afford to have a car and keep it serviced, so i did a sunday night mechanics course...Though i'm definitely not a mechanic. It did help on the bills and has saved me a few quid over the years.
  3. And paint it Camoflage...from a can. Yep Class!!
  4. Do BMW waterpumps internally fail? All the waterpumps (other manufacturers) i have seen fail, have leaked coolant. Like the other guys said, you probably won't need to change either waterpump or themostat if it was an airlock, if the thermostat is not opening you will find one hose will generally be cooler than the other as the water will not be circulating.
  5. Would insurance cover it seeing it was in a "car rally" (unless i'm wrong)
  6. I think the point of the forums are for everyone to voice their opinions on the topic subject, but you're right about the tough internet bravado...any 12 year old kid can talk tough on the net too! Lets talk car sh*t and not just sh*t!?
  7. I think what we have here, is a clear example of why young guys with little disposable income or some sort of mechanical knowledge should stick to a push bike
  8. Or putting it in a container may be cheaper!?
  9. I'll ask the father in law if he wants anymore, he puts it down on the dirt roads on his farm to stop the dust!
  10. We took 2 cars away to Twizel over Xmas/NY's and the 318 (fully loaded) got 680km's out of a full tank before the light came on but the CLK 430 ate the gas, 2 and 1/4 tanks (approx 60 litres a tank)...not to mention V-power cost $2.15 a litre in Twizel
  11. Yeah, i think they are the same! One of those have pulled through the floor...poor design imo, as a lot of the weight transfers through that bolt!
  12. Can anyone give me a link or tell me how i can see if a transmission will fit my car ie which number on the trans is what!? Chur
  13. Yeah, the bolt thing that goes through the floor, it's kind of hard to explain but it seems like it was partly above and partly below...if that makes any sense lol
  14. Still keen, am working on freeing up some funds. PM me your number and ill give you a buzz over the next few days.
  15. Sucks, the other way around though! I have a few $$ in Barclays but because the NZD is so strong i can't...well, don't want to exchange it yet. When i arrived home from the UK in 2006 the stirling was nearly 4 times the NZD so i left some investments ticking over, now it's only just over double. wtf
  16. Hey Guys. A few days ago while jumping in the e36 i heard a small pop and the front seat went wonkey, i jumped out and had a look and thought i had broken a bolt. Today i jumped in and a decent look and found that the bolt thing had come through the floor (no 2 on the diagram) What i was wanting to know (plus legalities) was, should i pull out the welder and weld it in place or cut a small hole from underneath and weld a small plate then bolt it in. Cheers
  17. Sorry i don't know what these bushes look like, but could you get an engineering company to make some custom ones? i have had bushed made for other cars before...just an idea!!
  18. That was magic, awesome link!!
  19. Wow, where have i been to miss this one!? I'm really keen on this, but not right away...have a few things i need to get rid of first, but if it doesn't go, PM me and i'll see if we can sort something out! After looking at the build thread and out of serious interest, why are you selling?
  20. Had a similar prob when i first bought my 318, after a ICV clean and running a bottle of injector cleaner...it straightened up! I guess a change of the fuel filter also wouldn't hurt!
  21. Very tidy, i love the colour!! Welcome to Bimmersport dude!
