I think your theory may be on the right track...when i saw the title of your post i was thinking "Tiptronic box" but it def sounds like either an ECU - though am assuming a scan would've picked up an issue or the alternator/battery - though am quite sure it wouldn't restart again after a few mins, only other thing i could think of would be the fuel supply or pump.

You used to be able to get top gear on BBC world news but it was not a schedueled programme...maybe on mysky!!??

So clearing out the garage last night and i realised i had a jatco box lying around that i had bought off trademe a few years ago...thinking i might need it, didn't and was going to relist it. I'm pretty sure it's for an e36 318 and can remember the company i bought it off saying it had come off a car with around 120K but can't identify it 100% Can anyone tell me how to identify it or send me a link!? Was just thinking the exact same thing Graham!! When I bought it, I gave it a thrash for a solid 3 or 4 days and played it occasionally for a few weeks. I think when you’re a teenager or a bit younger with less responsibility or no life you can afford to play games endlessly. I have 4 reasonably new games for PS3/360 that I have only played for a couple of hours, because of being old and too busy

Having a few beers last night I brought this story up with some mates (one who’s a Lawyer and one a Cop) They said they would find it hard to believe that the police would push for charges if it seemed so black and white, as you are stating. (You have never had a traffic charge, your car is legal, you were not spotted by the police losing traction, and the member of public will NOT have proof as you are 100% telling the truth) They also said you may well be telling the honest truth and if that is the case, you need to get a good lawyer or if you cannot afford one to apply for legal aide and get a good one…if this happens and all charges are thrown out you have every right to go too the police complaints authority and place a request for the cost of impound and towing fees, court/lawyer costs, any transport costs incurred while your car was impounded. The F150 does look very safe, but Ferrari have always been that and probably always will. Despite that they will be up there as per usual, i wouldn't count on RBR being front runners again this year. You only have to look at BrawnGP in 09 - MercedesGP last year and how fast things can change, Ferrari and Mclaren are the only real year in year out, consistent front runners. Can't wait though and will be excited to hear and see 2 German national anthems being played often this season.

Hey Guys, bought my younger sister a run around when she returns to NZ next week and collected it last night (never seeing it) and it seems to be sitting on genuine BBS RG034 - 15' - 4x100...which i have never heard of before. I paid a little over a K for the car and was wondering if it would be worth getting these restored for when i eventually get around to getting an e30 or just leaving them on the car. Cheers
