  1. Looking so much better without the orange reflectors, currently in Canada (which has the same reflector rules) and it just doesn't look as good as the euro clears. The one thing that I'm not sure about on your car is the Dinan badge, however I definitely prefer the stealth look which definitely isn't for everyone.

  2. Given that BMW won't make an M3 or an M5 touring, I'm going to have to lower my expectations and dream of one of these in RHD Touring version... (or maybe an Alpina B5 Touring as they actually exist in RHD). I had heard rumours that the facelift M550i sedan would be made in RHD.

If it’s original then it’s a rare beast. Only one registered on Alpina Register and that’s in the UK.

Looked a bit dodgy with the non-Alpina rear seats and that the front seat Alpina stripe are on opposite sides between driver and passenger (from what I’ve researched  they’re on the same side). Does appear to have an Alpina plague in front of passenger but without checking the build number idk if it’s legit.

I think that's a real one. LHD with the appropriate EC spec instrument cluster and build plaque. The E36 touring was never imported to Japan as a new car.

  4. The N20 is still a relatively new engine, but has a better reputation than older BMW 4 cylinder models. The 6 cyl N53 (I think it will be this in a Jap market car) has injector issues (expensive piezo injectors too) and cokes up due to being direct injection. Neither engine will set the world on fire in an F10 performance wise, the N53 will sound better but the N20 should have better low end torque.

If you can find a 520/523d that might be a better option?

  5. Is the S58 confirmed @E30 325i Rag-Top? I wondered if they might have bolted an extra turbo on the B58 in their usual way. It's an easy sell over the M340i if it indeed has an S58. Also interesting that this car is running the M-sport body kit, previous generations have had the standard / sport line body.

    Hi all

    I'm looking for a tow bar setup for my 2009 E91 335i m sport.

I've had a search on here and google with limited results.

I want one that doesn't require the bumper to have a hole cut in it so that means one that comes from underneath the bumper would be ideal.

Does anyone have any leads on a nice setup?

    Cheers

Not sure if you sorted this. May be worth asking whether the drawbar is included with this one - has the towbar mount and electrics? (NZ new E91 335i)

Hi, just contacted European Cars, and they have given me some options.  Gaz is the post above is correct, the spec list is very small.  I have managed to find a few well spec'ed options.  Waiting to see what the price is.  Sally came back pretty quick, off to a good start!

Nice one. Yep the spec can be lower, though there are some dealer and ex-lease cars which are fully stacked as well.

Hi there, who imported you 335d for you?  How old was it when you go it?  There are quite a few comments in the forums about salt and corrosion.  I am looking a quite new models so I guess salt wont be a huge issue esp if you purchase one that was sold in the UK summer.

I used European Car Imports (highly recommended, will be able to get the exact spec you want) - purchased November 2017 (it's a 2016) I'd certainly be surprised if there was significant corrosion on a 2019 model but worth getting an inspection prior to purchase if you're concerned.

My impression is the 'all UK imports have rust' story is about as reliable as 'all Jap imports are in bad condition with wound back odometers' - I've seen plenty of rough NZ new cars and mint imports so caveat emptor.

  9. I've been happy with my UK imported F31 335d Xdrive - mainly brought it in as the NZ operation didn't offer anything better than a 330d tourer at the time (and they were selling for 30k more than I bought mine for). If the car is near new the odds of significant salt exposure (-> corrosion) are minimal.

The warranty has improved on the NZ new ones since I bought mine which is quite a nice selling point. The service is a bit of a red herring IMO as you'll get one oil/filter change and one brake fluid change in 3 years unless you're doing mega KM, so total value $4-500.

Let me know if you have other questions.
