  1. Cheers @Olaf New Zealand has its shackles on me! It’s my wife, who is a kiwi, that wants to go to the UK. I give her two Winters, the first she’ll think they can’t all be like this, but the second will confirm they can! Yes, sold locally.
  2. That was a good send off for the old girl; 1600km and 4 nights living out of her from Auckland to New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Coromandel and back to Auckland. After ten years in NZ, I fly out to the UK today, been a pleasure Bimmersporters!
  3. I’ve recently been in the Far North, and where better for fish and chips on the beach. Having recently been on a trip through the Central Plateau, the E53 is fast approaching 400,000KM. We will be driving from Auckland to Wellington via Waitara, Waverley, Wanganui and Paraparaumu, and then back to Auckland via Coromandel; which should do it. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we’re heading to the UK on April 22nd after which the car will be for sale, no expense has been spared on making her safe and reliable for my family and I’ll be sad to see her go. If you or anyone you know is in the market for an E53 then please sing out.
  4. Pick-A-Part Takanini
  5. I’ve put nearly 15,000KM on this thing which means we’re close to ticking over 400,000KM. To be honest, it’s hard to believe. If I was super picky, and I generally am with my cars 😂 the A/C could use a re-gas, the radio pixels are gone and the headliner is ready for a re-trim. That’s genuinely about it. Serviced today by the man @BMTHUG and while he was at it: Out with the old and in with the new (super picky 😂).
  6. I've said it before, I'll say it again...
  7. None are unkillable, but these engines are almost there. 400,000 kilometres on my M57 E53 X5 and she starts and runs like new.
  8. Looks mint (literally). Get well soon bro!
  9. Down by the river. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Bimmersporters!
  10. I found my iPod Classic, and the E53 already has a Parrot hands-free wired in and working! Peak naughties!
  11. Cheers brother, you’re the man!
  12. Thanks mate! Let’s grab a coffee again before she goes.
  13. Reluctant sale of: Boris Please click on the link for full details, but the short of it is WoF and Registration until March 2025. 168,626KM and I have partial service history. Previous owner was the archetypal ‘lady owner’, wife of an old boy I play golf with. She owned the car for fifteen years, both privately and under her company name, always garaged and serviced on time. The condition of the car speaks to that, drives great and everything works as it should. I have driven it all over the North Island without issue and up until the arrival of our second child, commuted 100KM in it daily. Really nice spec’ with all the M Sport bits, Hellrot exterior, leather interior and Style 24 wheels. I bought an E53 when number two arrived and to be honest the only reason I am selling this is because it isn’t getting the use it should, and it won’t for the foreseeable. I could use the funds to set the X5 up for family camping. Plate ‘328 S’ included. Located North Shore, Auckland. It would be great to keep this one in the community, $9,000. Great buying in time for Summer! Please send me a message if you or someone you know is interested in discussing further and I will send you my contact details. Thank you, Josh
  14. Family roadie to the BoP. Couple of days in the bush and driving around a mates farm, perfect.
  15. Update: I love this car.
  16. We made it to the moon 🌚
  17. She's in a sorry state. I was missing a handful of 'Naps' (the black dots on the running boards), $15 a piece new! Picked about twenty-five of them, and a door handle carrier for $12 total. I'd not been to Pick-a-Part before but it's all good and actually kind of fun, thanks for another heads up @Palazzo!
  18. Congratulations mate, my wife has a Mitsubishi Outlander that was the designated family car, but with two kids I could see us both needing something capable of safely getting a kid / the kids around in if the other person is using that. I didn't want an X3, but then I drove one and was pleasantly surprised. Only decided against it because it would have been a squeeze for the dog in the boot. If it's got the service history then don't be put off by the mileage, particularly on the diesel. M57 is proven if serviced, fuel economy is great and plenty of torque if you need to tow something. It's achilees heel is the swirl flaps (if your intake manifold has them) but they're straightforward to blank. Previous owner had spent a bit on the suspension, brakes, tyres etc and was great to deal with so I trusted my gut on the higher mileage. There were quite a few on TradeMe, in your neck of the woods, when I was looking. Just avoid the 5-Speed Transmission (pre-facelift), they always sh*t themselves!
  19. Absolutely, thanks again mate. Should’ve brought yours back from the UK!
