That would be appreciated. You aren't cam146 on trade me are you? Your name and listings look suspiciously like someone doing an m52 swap!! I saw the dme pop up. If it's yours, what needs to be done to it to run car... Maybe with an upgraded cop for some more horses!! Who did you get to program yours? Cost?

I can do EWS deletes for M52 if you need..

So I had a 20 min track session at Pukekohe and these did well at first, but towards the end when I had the space to go all-out, they started to fade. Breaking at 200kph at the finish straight just killed them, I had to slow down and the traffic behind me caught up. Brakes were the only thing to let me down here.

What's the main weak point(s) here? Pads? Perhaps EBC Yellows or performance pads from Stoptech/Hawk would have fared better.

Perhaps EBC Redstuff is ok for track use on lighter cars, but they cannot handle a 335i. I think they're great on the street, but not suitable for the track for a 300hp+ car.
If I go again with these pads I'll be sure not to go so fast on the straight :P

I had the same problem with ebc yellows, once they're hot and throw in some 200kph stops they were useless. Thats in what id suspect to be a lighter car too.

ps. If using anything other than stock ignition (distributor + rotor) you'll need to use the cam ID sensor. It's the wire from the HT leads, pin 8 & 31 on the motronic 1.3. 8 being the ground, 31 signal. Also note I'm using a E36 TPS, not the stock E30 one

You could run wasted spark with just the trigger wheel off the crank and no dizzy or cylinder ID sensor. If you want to run sequential fuel or igniton then you'll need a cam position sensor.

Idle control the M20 runs a 3 wire bosch idle valve, the link should be able to control.

Crash / roll protection; not exactly the same but most ECU's and im sure the link will to, will switch the fuel pump off when the engine isnt running.. i.e crashed and turned ignition off or engine stalled. Not fool proof, but its there.

aircon control it can take an input and will increase idle speed.

The M20 generally has just a wot/idle switch, not a potentiometer style throttle posistion sensor which you'll want. The 6 wire TPS some e30's with the EGS auto trans had one thatll bolt straight up. or, make an adaptor plate and fit a E36 one.

The Meremere track is slippery too, so you will have less traction than the road.

Yeah its hopeless, I was spinning through 3rd and that was feathering the throttle with r888's. Was really surprised at how low traction was compared to on the streets.

Am going to teekay test the vehicle tonight and see how it goes, but after a lot of reading what i am seeing is the water beginning to boil because the system is no longer pressurised.

Seal it up and try it is the only way.

If you're getting up to 100c it will start to boil with no cap.

Id just run it untill it starts to get warm / just before its starting to blow it out and shut it off. Put the cap on and let it cool right down and check the level, top it up if needed then take it for a run with a close eye on the temp . If it is pressurising it badly because of a hg fault itll likely blow it out the overflow so keep an eye on that.

  6. If you google or facebook mse turbo i think you should find it.

I have a hx35 with 12cm housing. Made 270kw on 12 psi. So if thats all the power you're after then maybe a smaller turbo would be better and youd get better response. But im sure steve would have more useful info on that

  7. Im not an expert and will prob look stupid later but my thoughts...

For that power level don't worry about the orings. If you still wanna use the hx40 at least try and get a smaller  exhaust housing for it, maybe crunchy has some suitable ones. I bought mine off a nz crowd online but forget who it was now.
