I like the e23, but the rest look stupid.

Does it still have the engine? My dad is looking for a good anchor for his boat.
Any Toyota wrecker should have something suitable.

Yeah there is one bracket that it slides in to at the bottom then a stud that holds another plastic clip. Just get a rad with built in expansion tank, makes the whole setup much tidier. Unless of course you want to track / race it and need the bigger radiator.

Just replace it with a later model ms41 that is flashable, easier and cheaper.

All are programmable, just the method changes. EG earlier ECUs changing chips to UV erasable socket PSOP44 etc. The rest support true Flash RAM and are programmable over the ADS interface.
MS42 and variants are a bitch, a lot of us have tried to find the EWS locations but its not an easy one. Its doable, just not in the public domain yet.
Have had far more luck fully disassembling my MSS50 ecu, which is strange as its architecturally more complicated.
E36 would all be ms41.x wouldn't it? In which case ews etc isn't a problem.

I guess BMW NZ isn't being proactive and contacting owners?
Wouldn't appear to be.

Since its a recall are they replaced at no cost?

Check battery terminals are tight.

I've got an electric power steering pump here. It will draw over 60 amps at high load (tested with clamp meter), but you would average much lower than that.
Anyway, assuming 60 amp load, 13.5v volts, that's 810 watts assuming alternator is 100% efficient which it's not. So prob around 1kW to run the electric pump at full load.

Yeah but the stupid dyno reading is in road speed, not rpm. Yeah you can calculate it back from tyre size, but really who wants to do that.
I'm probably just a dumb ass but I've never understood why some dyno operators set the axis to road speed.

I've seen stupider things happen before.

Haha oh lordy, maybe lift the car off the ground and let the suspension hang at full droop and then check.

E36 ecu is remappable. Ews easily disabled also.
Otherwise pretty sure link do a plugin ecu for the e36

I'll drop a flaming dog turd on his door step and ring the door bell for ya next time I'm over those ways, $100. $150 and I'll record it.

Maybe the staff should of thought about it before bitching and moaning about their pay and contracts. Now they've just been replaced.Story of the world really. We are so quick to work on AI and self service without giving any thought to the people it is replacing.

Where are you finding all these 6 speed boxes?
dropped out of planes on 90 mile beach.

Prob buried in a shallow grave on 90 mile beach.

Thats more what I like to see.

Ripped the boot
openoff with a crowbar, somehow decided to lock its self and it would not un lock. -
Or you could just get a carter pump off the shelf from any speed shop. Run a in tank low pressure lift pump (like the early e30's etc) into surge tank and feed the carter from the surge tank.Pressure reduction is sub optimal because it usually results in flow constraints, what you really need is a high flow, low pressure pump. these are available from Dellorto and Weber specialists.
Alternatively you could hook one out of a motorbike e.g. Ducati - you may need two to get the flow

I extended one on a m70 and had no problems.

I've had a chat to manawatu mufflers, they can make me one for a good price and seem to know what they are doing so probably going to go that route. I need something high flowing but quiet, big ask when it's 3"
There use to be ultra tuff mufflers in tauranga really knew what they were doing. Manawatu mufflers bought them out quite a few years ago.

I haven't looked at these units before, but I manufacture brushes for many other DC motors, could take a look at yours if you like. (I'm in hamilton)

Yep, I ran something like that for ages. Actually worked better than the fenix piece of sh*t I put in later.
