2015 Mod List Upgrading my ER sport oil cooler to the ER competition Kit (dual oil coolers) http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/node/133 Changing my front bumper OEM oil /engine ducts to the 335IS versions + Fog delete http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9934105&postcount=499 (he did the M3 as he wasn't prepared to wait for the 335IS which fits hence all the trimming but you can see the difference) Getting a new Arkym Front Lip BMW M performance CF boot spoiler Later on the year after some data and testing been done with other owners Vargas Stg2+ Turbo's or going down the Single turbo route (still in 2 minds of which to go) Shotgun HPFP kit for the upgraded turbos Duke Dynamics CF hood

I think it's a silly interval on the n54 - with me running a tune and track days , I'm changing mine every 5k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Plenty of data around the US forums about how the standard intake is restrictive once power is dialed up , I just run the BMS intakes - love the sound under WOT - would love to get the Dinan CF intake, but can't justify spending over 1K US for 10HP gain, just spent 100US for the same thing!

The open track days organised by the Playday guys are run pretty well imo and if anyone is being a wanker/dangerous they will tell you to piss off , I was worried about that sort of issues as well , but done numerous track days with them and haven't had any sort of issues tbh with the drivers there

Covered my 2014 list, will need to do a 2015 list soon thanks , I am waiting on results from on results/data on the new HPFP solution being installed on cars at the momement before I look at going down the upgraded turbo route , either getting turbo's that fit into the factory housing or going to a big single, not sure yet Basically looking for a 500hp+ car on 98 and 600hp+ on e85 AA

Hi Chad, Primary cat = getting downpipes (if you have mechanical warranty, may want to check conditions as the autosure warranty is voided with that removed) - you will also need to code out the cat check otherwise the orange engine light will pop up on your dash 2nd cat was removed as I had a aftermarket exhaust system installed - I think Josh had his stock exhaust modified with the secondary cat removed (will ask him) All my modifications and work done to my 335i has been done by Bmworkshop Botany EDIT**** Josh has his e90 335i stock exhaust modified to remove the 2nd cat by Takapuna mufflers - but wasn't that happy with the work "Wouldn't recommend them, they didn't didn't take the exhaust off and left holes in it"

TBH been pretty impressed with the OEM pads Just my only gripe is the amount of dust from them! Stood up to track days + DD, tho brand new set only lasted less then a year Was going to run Ferodos DS2500 from racebrakes here but had issues with fitments etc, had to end up buying them from overseas Have some new brake pads which i haven't installed yet, can't remember as I had to get 2 different brands as they both didn't do rears and fronts - similar to the DS2500 compound

Not fun trying to deal with all that weight on the track which Ryan has experienced and now wants something else Cause the e9x M3 is slower then his e60 M5 NA tuning is expensive vs turbo Fuel bills Tunability of the N54 engine Early results with stage2+ turbo (sub 4K US for 600hp+) http://www.bimmerboost.com/content.php?5206-The-BMW-N54-stock-frame-turbo-record-officially-stands-at-an-eye-opening-645-wheel-horsepower

Hey Josh, I personally think they are a great car, but probably biased I would stay away from the 06/07 models , 09 + (10 would be pref now) Am assuming you're wanting to get a manual version?? , I would stay away from the AT and try to get the DCT version Check the history as there was a recall on the HPFP and see it has been done My fuel consumption is around 9.5-11L (that's with a turned up tune on 98) - depends on how heavy your foot is, when I am giving it sh*t , its around 13-15L I would check the intervals they are doing oil changes.....if they are doing it at the BMW recommended mark of 25,000k.....that kinda insane on a turbo car, don't care its synthetic oil...still dumb - M sport version at least - I think the non-m look crap without the diffuser/aero kit Get a walnut blast done, then run a OCC to help prevent that issue from occurring again - should get pics of how it looks now after running for a year after the clean

Hi Was wondering if anyone could give me recommendations/advice for the oil I should be running on my 335i It's used as my Daily driver - doing avg about 60-80km/day and then the car is being used on the track - probably around once a month in summer - so around 8-9 times a year doing 10-15min sessions at hampton downs / taupo etc I am using the recommended oil 5W30 and changing it every 5,000k On the track, the oil temp is getting up to 140 degrees during those sessions, with the aftermarket oil cooler and thermostat - it pretty much stays there max and my own rule is if it gets to 145 , I'll get off the track and let the car cooldown (used to be a issue with the stock oil cooler) US forums - people are saying to run 5W40 / brands like Motul etc - was wondering the cons/benefits versus the 5W30 and if i should switch to a different brand etc Does anyone know what the track 135's here in NZ are running on their cars? thanks in advance

Had rough idle on startup's in the morning Couldn't compare powerwise stock versus stock as i had put a tune on after it was cleaned - was one of the pre-req's people had recommended before turning the power up on the car But plenty of threads on e90 forums about how much of a improvement it was
-
Did mine at Bmworkshop Botany - Ring Ross about prices as I was getting a whole lot done when this was done for me How they looked before the clean How they looked after a clean Would recommend you run a OCC (Oil Catch Can) on the N54 platform
-
lol, thought there might of been a website where you could load on different styles - something like the tire rack website where you can see how wheels would look on your car
-
DO ETT btw kinda curious - where/what do you use for testing out what wheels would look like?
-
Selling my OEM BMW 19inch 225 wheels as I need space in the garage - comes with RFT tyres - plenty of tread left on them Front - 225/35/19, 8 inch, offset 37 Rear - 255/30/19, 9 inch, offset 39 $1500

LOL Old puke was fun!!, did a puke session last year and after seeing 3 cars crash that day....
-
Hey James, Summer's around the corner and I'll be keen to get on the track again , but I won't be doing puke :S....just no tolerance for learning imo Will be doing Hampton downs / Taupo etc - will let you know

Dyno tuning/ecu remap in auckland
jake1829 replied to Jbeem's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
Hi Are you planning just to run on the street or take your car to track days? You will get more power gains if you remove your primary cats and get downpipes As I need the feature to change maps, I have opted another route for my tune's - but I would recommend Gavin @ Hi-Velocity - as pretty much all my dyno/tuning runs were done there when dialing in my tune ^^ Common issues once the power is tuned up on the platform is misfire issues caused by old spark plugs/coil packs @gym - Motiv just set the world record on the E9x platform with a stock n54 engine with a single turbo upgrade over the E9x M3's with their upgraded internals & supercharger kits http://www.bimmerboost.com/content.php?5325-The-BMW-N54-horsepower-record-stands-at-829-wheel-horsepower-thanks-to-a-Motiv-Motorsport-single-turbo-upgraded-335i -
Sounds logical , guess won't be much of a issue for a street car, but if you take the car on the track that's a different story.... those down pipes look pretty hot!
