g-yea!!! 2000 Grit wet/dry ftmfw!!!! Happy now Thanks for the quick replies guys... Maybe sticky this.... Brake dust is a bitch Might need a decent wax... Have tarnished the clear coat i wee bit in some places that required 'extra' rubbing but overall better than covered in ugly dust

god damn, this stuff is literally like concrete, wheels are painted and the autosol doesn't seem to been eating the paint to much but it wont get the bloody stuff off!!! GRRRRR!!! Think i might have to opt for a repaint.. Concours this weekend to!! Maybe some 2000 grit wet/dry will do it?

Popped into my mates car yard and their groomer told me to use polishing pads on a dremel along with some autosol, will give that a go if not try all of the above. Cheers guys:)

I was using Endless race pads in the cosworth and they dusted up real bad, i didnt clean the wheels for a week and the dust has caked onto the wheel like concrete, have tried... Degreaser, 3 or 4 brands of mag wheels cleaner etc. Have also tried toothbrush and 3 different mag wheels cleaning brushes. Nothing seems to work. I can scrape it off with my fingernail but id rather not :s Any ideas as to what i could use to remove this stuff?!

If you look in the galaxy of cars thread i started you can see a v12 late 80's jag sitting next to the cosworth, that thing was pretty badass.

Driving home from the shore first thing this morning and saw a bunch of rod's and classics heading towards town.. Went home and had a look in petrol-head to see what was on and found out about the Galaxy of cars show, thought we may as well head in with the Sierra for a look.. Turned out to be an awesome day, had a great time looking at a very diverse range of cars from all era's.. Paid 16 dollars for a park to 'show off' the car, chucked the bonnet up and went for a walk. Plenty of like minded people enjoying the cars and a day in the sun.. Anyone else go? I ran out of battery half way through (camera got used alot last night) but here are a few shots

josh? remember you saying you needed a tow wagon?

I think possibly the only thing to faulter on this car is that it is not LHD..(i.e not original) although for registration purposes this is a good thing. Point is not spending money on it but the fact that it is an APPRECIATING CLASSIC that is VERY hard to come by in such a well groomed state... Click now?

change your spark plugs, check distributor for cracks? Had same thing happen in my e30 and replaced most of the ignition system which seemed to solve it

Blacktop construction?? They make a mess of roads anyway. NZ infrastructure is so poor and Ollie i COMPLETELY agree with you.. This whole bypass seems like a big art project rather than a 'useful' road.. I mean they spent 1 mil for every day of the year (around 360 mil all up) just to build a 5.2 km stretch of road with flashy bridges and a tunnel.. Woopdee!!

haha i lol'd at all the screwdrivers to p.s: hows that wax i gave you? I see it sitting there in one of the photos

It would have if you left the 2.0L Getrag 240 in Edit: On second thought there would still be a lot you would have to 'un-modify' to make it eligible.
