On my Charger I basically spun the Michelins around the rim during drags at the lights.... I know, I didn't believe it either, so I marked the rims and tyres - yep - they moved!
-
3P you could be right. I went to a towbar co here when I had my E36 and they couldn't see a way to do it - which is why I went to BMW. That could explain a lot.

That's a nice looking wheel!!

I was thinking about tyres, from one of the other threads and thought about the last time I had a flattie. It was at an Ohakea Wings'n'Wheels day about 10 years ago. Prior to that I'd had several flats using Michelins on my Valiant Charger and Hemis. Has tyre quality improved or is it just luck? When did you last have a flat?

I wanted to put one on my '95 325 and was quoted a 'special' price by Jeff Gray of $1450. Apparently, on some models of OBC, it requires a wiring loom alteration. I didn't bother. Check first.

Just drive up over a gutter (from a crossing, so you don't bottom out) and then you can get under the car.

Who the hell would buy only three wheels anyway?? I won't even buy four - if I can't get a full set (5), I'm not interested. Things have to be 'right' for me.

older members - I guess I qualify on that one

f**k, what a wanker! It a wonder he could see the camera, his head being so far up his own bum!

I complained about a fake Fender Strat recently. If you're sure, I'd say - do it! Being ripped off is nasty.

OUCH! That really sux! Remember in the old west how they used to shoot cattle rustlers? Time to bring it back!!

Interesting. One of the most common critcisms levelled at E30s is that they are too square and boxy, like a Fiat 125 or a Lada (Fiat 124). IMO, those lights accentuate the boxiness, where the originals soften it. So my preference would be for rounds. I'd say you're fairly safe from competition, there mate

Neither hold any appeal to me, but since you posed the question as a 'pick one' - if I had to, it'd be the M5. I suppose I could convert it to an auto.

Not VANOS noise?

LOL - ur right - I forgot about the rego!

BTW - M325 - are you a history buff? Pangea.

Really, there's no problem! Just get an identical cheap EDIRTY plate from German Plates and drive through LOTS of speed cameras for a month or so, park all day without paying any money etc - then change back to your legal plates. Do this every few months. The sucker who bought 'your' plates will get tickets by the dozen and he'll have to fight for years to clear his name.... Rog ~ feeling evil today!

Worth and what someone will pay may differ...

Since all modern cars are designed using similar parameters, surely it is logical that some similarities will exist? When the E60 came out, the first thing I thought was Nissan Maxima!

Thanks, guys - I appreciate the good wishes - a lot!

Glad its all sorted mate. 3 months is ridiculous. Mind you, my BiL rolled his new 320/6 Alpina when a tie rod broke and with all the BMW Germany and BMW NZ arguing over who was gonna pay (the car was less than a year old) it took 13 months before he got it back. He was so pissed off, he traded it in on a Subaru.

Ann (my wife) & I are of an age where good folk we know, friends and family, are dying off. We've had a good look at our lives and have decided its time to do a bit more together. Accordingly, we both resigned our respective jobs and in 3 - 4 weeks, we'll be living on the shores of Lake Taupo. Here's the view from our bedroom window: We've signed up a 2 year contract as Motel Managers (Karaka Tree - where Napier-Taupo Rd meets the Lakeshore). The plan is, once the contract is up, we'll holiday in UK for a month, then off to another contract somewhere else in the country and so on. We've decided that living for money is for other people and we'll be living for one another, together and seeing more of our world and less of a university desk (me) or an operating theatre table (Ann). It'll be longer hours, but we're looking forward to it!! If you choose to stay with us, please let us know who you are, as I don't know many of you outside of your aliases and I'd love to meet y'all. However, its a high-class joint, not a dive, so no ricers!! Cheers, Rog

3pedals, that's been my experience as well with my E36s and my E39. When its time to replace a tyre - they're all about evenly worn. In any case, I never replace a single tyre - I always do full sets (well 4 anyway, the spare stays in the boot).
