I presume you mean from an economy pov? If so, it depends on one's driving style. One reason I prefer an auto these days is that a stick shift makes me think I'm 40 years younger and I suddenly turn back into that idiot that I was at 18 and drive like a total wanker. That has a VERY deleterious effect upon fuel consumption. I drove to the Hutt and back yesterday and took care to sit on (or very near to) the speed limits and returned 7.8l/100km, so fuel economy really is (imo) all about how we drive, more that what we drive.

Sell the surrounds on TM

My 1995 E36 325 Auto - around 9l/100km trip and 11l/100km town Funnily enough, my E39 528 is slightly better on the fuel than the 325 was. My E36 318 was the thirstiest of them all, I guess because it was foot to the floor all the time to try to coax 'normal' performance form it. However, if you're really worried about fuel consumption - get a Prius

I've said it before - Jeff Gray Manawatu = top class dealers!

OK - I had to re-read the first post. Now I understand - its for racing! Duh!! I was wondering why the f**k anyone would do that to their car... must learn to read better!! Cool stuff, mate. Good luck!

I too am with AMI and have had a great ride with them. My wife wrote off her car (2 yr old Ford) and the wof was a month out of date - giving them an out if they wanted it, but they paid up in full without any hassle. I have no idea how much I pay per year and don't particularly care - its just money and I make that stuff every day. However I feel happy at AMI and that's what matters to me.
-
I'd pay more than $200 for a phone. Yeah right!

Congrats to the family, Grant! You'd better get that second job lined up soon, 'cos kids cost $$$ - forever! Have you found out what's causing it yet? I did (after 3 kids) and made damn sure it won't happen again!!

I'm like Martyn - the first I saw was the M badges, after which the cred was gone.. Good on them for doing something different. The thing is not my style, but I think the colour makes the right statement about the car.

Yes it was pale blue with a cream vinyl roof and chocolate brown leather interior. It was nice, but somehow, just didn't work for me. Yes, it was PMRUK and yes, I agree, the host is a 10th dan twonk!

Anyone like that pimped '89 316i tonight? (Sky Ch 35) It just didn't do anything for me. Even the wheels looked kinda crap. Sometimes they get it spot on, tonight ... they missed the mark by a wide shot. (IMO of course)
-
My dog, those wheels are horrid!! Izzat really the new M3? WTF happened to BMW style??
-
Ah, thanks - yes, I can do without porn at my age

Excellent, Em. Its a far better car than my first - a 1960 PA Vauxhall.

Antisocial? Here’s what triggered that comment: got kicked out of the place we were staying for exposing my self in an in-decent manner. getting chased by the local Maoris all up the gravel roads for about 12km,hacking around on the beach with the ol' Sierra, got in a couple of fights because my best friend was on ecstacy hasselling a bunch of skinheads, almost got arrested after beating the crap out of aforementioned skinhead. Broke my hand jumping someones back fence, saw a few good fights in Leigh got kicked out of there after doing lots of outrageous hijinks I then broke out of the temporary holding cell so I could do burnouts in my holden. Stole some letterboxes and drove to Whangamata where heaps of mates were getting totally crunked after some of that, it was running around naked until I got kicked out of where-ever I was (cause I was so stoned and drunk with all my cool friends that I didn't know where I got kicked out of). so we stole my rich dad's 911 and caned recklessly up to my uncles bach in Pauanui scooters - a 13 strong convoy ripping round the gold coast cycle lanes was absolutely frickin hilarious highlight was getting cheap shotted in the head with a bar stool by some random dude at a house party we were at, then watching a couple of mates go to work on him outside. None of which I'd call responsible behaviour

So basically, having a great time for you lot involved drinking until your body was toxic, abusing people, indulging in anti-social behaviour and generally perpetuating the viewpoint that youngsters are all wankers??? Sounds pretty much what I did when I was young

I second that. I sat in a few BMWs at Jeff Gray while I was waiting for my car to be brought out and sat in a few otherwise nice cars, but with cloth. Where once it would have made no difference to me, now that I'm used to leather, they just felt ... wrong. Hybrid - great info and I'm very surprised that the cost was so cheap.

Ahh, weaves. Way to go, girl (in my best Oprah voice - LOL)

Made a choice yet, Allan? Rog

Em - what a saga!! Glad it (almost) resolved now. I guess there's been some life experiences for you through this which you would have preferred didn't happen, but that's life...

I'm with CaM. Some conversions are sweet, most aren't. That one isn't. I actually used to like the 850s. Then had a really good look around one and drove it. Now I share CaM's opinion of them. As he says different strokes - we all have our own valid opinions and there is no such things as a wrong or a right opinion. It all depends on how much other's opinions agree with ours as to our acceptance of them.
