I've yet to hear a decent sounding bass in any car - I've heard $8-10k systems - they just make the car rattle and are still waaay too middy - lacking the real bass definition that musicians expect - cars are just piss poor music cabinets by their very nature and construction. That's IMO YMMV

I hate people who pull out right in front of me, then drive at 20kph below the speed limit in the middle of the road so I can't get past them. I hate people who overtake me on yellow lines or blind corners - then they turn off at the next road 100m down the way - WHY??? I hate people who drive cars spewing out evil clouds of foul smoke. FIX the smegging thing!! I hate people who drive crap cars which obviouslycannot pass a WOF - are unregistered etc, yet still the cops ignore it. I hate drunk drivers. If drink kills, I have no problem with them killing themselves (in fact I encourage it) - its the innocents being killed by them .... I hate wankers doing donuts in city streets - I mean seriously - WHY??? Get a life!! Although when they blow their motors or break a driveshaft doing it - it does provide much merriment!! I hate wankers who have the worst taste in music, then insist upon the whole city hearing it as they drive through town with their arms hanging out the window - incredibly, people like that often imagine they're cool in some way. I guess they don't notice everyone else in the world pissing themselves laughing at them - probably because their seats are so low they can't see them out of the windows... I hate everyone who doesn't think like me..

If its been owned by anyone under 40 - its been thrashed... Excessive wear as you've shown would make me walk away - there are hundreds of cars for sale... why spend your money when there is doubt?

I had my 528 in for a new water pump and a blown hose and had two loan cars from the agents. The first was a 318 - when I had my 3s I loved them - now, they feel too small. Since I'd had a 325 for the last 4 years, I'd forgotten about needing larger gaps in traffic with a 318 - oops foot hard down!! LOL The second loan car I had all weekend was a '99 520. It too needed a fair bit more right foot than I am used to. Somehow the black leather didn't seem as soft as my grey leather (I guess that's just an illusion) and I missed my sunroof and other gadgets. Yesterday, I got my own car back...bliss! Whatever you have - you have because you enjoy it and that's the bottom line to me. We each have different tastes and different expectations from our cars. Drive 'em to live and drive to have fun.

Definitely a classic BMW - but my understanding that it is less practical as a dail runner than you may require. Parts are getting a tad harder to find and are therefore more expensive. I'd suggest you contact Hugh Tunley, as he has a very nice example and knows several peeps round the country with them. Don't be shy :lol BMWCCNZ

Can I just add to that - use your sense of humour? I see this as a fun thread, rather than anyone taking a poke at me or anyone else - I respond accordingly - all in fun. Peeps need to not take interweb life too seriously, imo.

An M3 I was in recently had a speedo which went to 320kph. The service manager at the local BMW agent told me that he doesn't believe the governing (set to 250) can be overridden. He said some people claim to have worked around it, but he thinks they're all bullshit. So are the higher speeds on some speedos just a wank factor? I find that hard to believe. Surely the governor can be tricked?? Anyone here with a perspective on that?

I had a Honda Civic for a work car. I didn't like it, so I tried to destroy it. The bloody thing wouldn't lie down and die!! I thrashed it in every way. The body got a bit twisted and it developed so many leaks that you'd have been drier outside in the rain, but that engine and gearbox were just indestructible... props to Honda.

O the irony - my car is in for service so I'm driving a '96 318 loaner from Jeff Gray. Almost took it up the arse this morning when I forgot about the 318 acceleration from standstill - foot hard down etc...... and that Commode is a coming up fast.... gotta remember to choose my gaps better with a small engine!
