i love your drive way it has so many bmws in it! i suppose it depends what you paid for it, you could definatly sell the bits for heaps more than what it costs to fix?? maybe fix then flick off and make a couple if you could?

i was quite lucky it came out of the same year and model 320i, might go for a 3.91 then, you can take off the 2nd!

Its now manual, with a 4.1 diff, lol. kinda funny with 4.1 saving for a newy now prob a 3.63 i suppose. Heres the full costs: Box $500 (Trade me) :mosh: Pedal box $120 Flywheel $100 Clutch kit $120 - mint deal so if you are converting you'd need $350ish.. Shifter linkage etc $60 New resiviour and piping $50 (OEM from dealership) New master cylinder $95 (BNT) Driveshaft Lengthened $165 (circle track engineering chch) Slave cylinder $50 All parts were from a wreckers and were really good bits, the clutch was 2nd hand but had almost no use, the flywheel was still shiny and the clutch almost untouched. Total cost was $1400 Cant remember all the bits cos im to lazy to get the docket out of the car so ask me if you want to know, thought this may be helpfull as i wanted as much info on prices when i started doing it. Cheers! Autos are bad.

mine are fully finctional on my facelift, but one thing do you have the switch that turns them on and off? as the wires can pull out of these easily, just plug them back in and you might be alright.

definatly do the conversion unless you like the auto, i paid 2 grand about 8 months ago to get a recon and work on my auto, and for that you can easily afford a mint conversion, mine has just cost $1500 to do, i wish i had done it before i forked out for the auto!! dont do what i did!!!cheers

Hey did the conversion today but not able to drive it till the drive shaft is the right length, have a pre f/l one but the bearing braket thingy is different, who makes them longer in Christchurch does anyone know somewhere reeealy cheap as the bill is getting big...lol $1400 at the mo... (for everything + labour) Cheers

1988 320i 186xxx km's bought with no gearbox due to guy doing burnouts with auto paid 2g for new auto - i am a dumbass wish id found this site b4 that! fried wiring due to crap fuse - $20 for 2nd hand loom took myslfy a week to fix now doing manual conversion, $1500 and i still will only get 5g maybe if i sold it man cars cost too much haha My plan is to not do anything with my car other than drive it next year i want to save!
