  1. ok i took your advice and took the car to midas! they said its one of my ball joints, i do not belive them because they were both replaced and the problem continued after it! now, they also said something is wrong with my steering rack because the power steering fluid is dirty! How much do you think this would cost to replace or fix ? and a good place to do it?
  2. Whenever I turn the steering wheel slightly, either left or right, when the car is running I can feel something skip. As if there is a bump and something jumps over it suddenly! Anyone have any idea what this is? Thnx in advance...
  3. 98 gets better fuel milage than 95, and supposidly its better for the car than 95! or what used to be 96 until they decided to implement another pointless law! most i've done is $92 on 98oct too! but mainly live on $20 at a time go students
  4. didnt all the newer e36's come with temp reading and such, and if its auto cruise control!? mine is a 93' and has more buttons than that one!
  5. My car is pulling to the left so i was wondering where a good place to get a wheel alignment is around Auckland!? and do they give you the readings? thnx in advance
  6. Holy sh*t!!!! $500!I rang bmw and they told me it was over $5000 for new leather seats! man im goin to go visit them lol thnx man!
  7. I was just wondering, do front indicator lights (yellow bits) from an e36 coupe fit a sedan? thnx
  8. no way!a 2.3L car to do that good in town driving, are u sure u didnt mean open rd!? yeah a 325 will do better on open road than a 320 and around town they're about the same! if i went to buy agian i'd get a 325 but getting a manual bmw here is just about impossible, especially an e36!
  9. because i wanted to know what other things are wrong with the car that i needed to fix! i did an AA check b4 i bought it but that thing sucks and is a waste of time really, the bmw one is much better but i didnt know about it till recently! its a whole bunch of repairs but the main one is something to do with the steering rack!
  10. I took my car to Team McMillan BMW last week for a pre purchase inspection (1yr too late) and along with $5800 of needed repairs they told me my left front ball joint was put in wrong! It was pushed too hard to the bottom plate is bent and the "rod" connected to it is put in crooked! That ball joint was put in at Serice European in manukau! Useless fu*king mechanics! Does anyone know of a reliable mechanic that doesnt charge an arm and a leg like the dealership? and a good place to do wheel alignment? thnx in advance!
  11. its a bit of a mission especially if its glued down with silicon like mine was but not worth paying someone to do it! just make sure u use something soft to take it off without damaging your paint!
  12. my e36 2L does an average of about 11.6km/100km's, i've kept track for the last 2mnths! When on open road, eg. during new years, did almost 700km on a full tank of 98oct, 8.8L/100km! The manual says it should do around 12.8 around town so im pretty happy with mine!
  13. sweet as, i finally understand things! thnx for this, now its shopping time, ill let u knw how it all goes...
  14. my noob questions, wht is rear fill? and what does a 4 channel amp mean, opposed to 8 channel? the number of inputs/outputs? and why not put the rear speakers on the amp as well as the front ones? sorry for all the questions but i want to know as much as possible before i get into this whole thing... thnx again
  15. thnx for all ur replies! yeah i like those new alpine cd players, orange display and buttons would also be good! so get very good front speakers and tweeters for and just replace the rear speakers but keep stock size! get a 4 channel amp and a small sub!? that sound about right?
  16. Ok its time to get a headeck and replace the front speekers/tweeters! as for the headeck ill get something not too expensive that plays mp3! now speakers is what im mainly lookin for in advice in! what size speakers can u fit in the front of an e36 without too much trouble? what brand to u recommend, where from and anything else u mite like to add ill be happy to read? thnx in advance! ps. is it possible to fit 6x9 in the back, without raising them, so in the place of the original speakers? thnx every1!
  17. the "passing lane" (the right hand lane, on the motorway) in nz isnt really a passing lane, its just another lane, as usually every lane goes the same speed. 80% of people wont even move out of your way when they see u pull up behind them in that lane. europe has a much better common sense amongst drivers. its prob coz you dnt just do a 15min test to get ur license but a 3 week course! if you're faster people move out of your way, no questions asked. thats the way it should be!
  18. oh crap, just saw it, sorry, this is it here: http://d54.yousendit.com/F/10PTM61DHV69P0M...vice_manual.zip thats the direct link or the site is: http://s54.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=10PTM61...9P0MLXBL3OKNV6J but i think its limited to 25 downloads, because thats the way that site works, so first come first serve. sorry for the stuff-up!
  19. 94.2mb enjoy... http://s54.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1...P0MLXBL3OKNV6J
  20. its not a coded key, but its one of those double sided ones! mr. minut cant do it, asked there already, and its like $45 to get it done at a professional locksmith! I found an exact blank of the key at bunnings but they wouldnt sell it to me because they said it was a wrong order and that they couldnt cut it for me either, their machine couldnt do it! ill ring up the dealer and see what they say, ill let u knw... thnx
  21. does any1 know of a good place to get BMW keys cut in auckland? all the normal locksmith's dont do it, apparently they need to be laser cut and its rather expensive... thnx
  22. yeah thats probably right, ill do the right thing and go to bmw, one day when i need something more ill get it from overseas, so thnx for all ur replys guys
  23. two of the coolest plates: "3VOM" and "UR 2ND"
  24. the vents r real sh*t. but i think it'd b much more fun owning a e36 m3 than a newer one, the older it is the more u can do on it urself. ppl say bmw's arent drag cars, nd they arent, but an e30 325 isnt exactly slow, it is if u compare it to a done up jap but stock on stock it would rip up most cars! just my 2c...
  25. not been here long but from the 11th of nov i wont have much to do either, if u need some1 to update the site or any computer kinda things im keen!
