  1. at the moment its come down to between dobis superlows and vogtland because they do 60mm drop anyone got some input
  2. ok the search doesn't work very well to find the info im after so I need some decent input from you guys got an e46 coupe it had 18s on it then I lowered it with king spring superlows...from the time it was done the rear sat perfectly and the front not so great still a sizeable gap , I was told they would settle I think they settled about a further 10mm if that the spring rate is also too soft for my liking so what im gonna do is change the springs and I know theres gonna be people saying go for coil overs but that's not in the budget and cant be bothered doing a cert so ive heard great things about h& r and am keen on the race spring because id like a higher spring rate but theres also eibach and dobi it needs to go approx. another 20mm lower and apparently the kings lowered it 45mm which I don't think happened haha so yea basically need a spring with a little more of a drop and a stiffer or quicker response- these are progressive springs aswell p.s ill add a picture soon aswell...and no the wheels are definitely not for sale haha thanks for any help
  3. silver tiptronic leather sport interior covered 204kms 18"M Pars (one has tiny curb marks) new wof reg till august new front wheel bearings(but still i think some tyre noise on turning no biggie) all things work apart from a few pixels in the dash(sometimes work sometimes they dont no biggie) great car to drive no mechanical faults doesnt use oil or water and has had the cam chain guides replaced along with headgaskets waterpump thermostat new coolant and a bunch of other things -work to the tune of 5k at approx 190km so she'll be good for a long time to come:) faults: car has a wobble at a certain speed around 105-110 and under breaking...could be the thrust arms which isnt a hard fix (have done this before and it solved the problem on my last e39) overall a good car and reasonably tidy:) to view or questions 021 148 6554 wont stay around long as im only after 7.5k will post pics as soon as i can...after work haha cheers

  5. oh ok sweet ill have a look at it when i get time away from work or the mrs haha forgot to mention that the clock works sweet and then when the car starts it stops and freezes on the time you start the car...great for timing journeys hahahah
  6. whats the price diffence ssecond hand versus new?im fond of replacing with new if its not exstorsionate
  7. monitor works sweet with ignition on and at times displays what radio station im on or cd im listening to all good other times just the date but is still back lit...seems to be just the information system isnt working right...all trip data is there and then you start the car and it goes to radio and the option for on board computer isnt highlighted any longer
  8. i did the wierd check you can do to check the ignition switch apparently start car and put the lights on with the radio on and then put the sun visors down and slide the screens open and watch for the "wierd stuff"supposed to happen and nothing happened apparently if the ignition switch is at fault crazy wierd things are supposed to occur??
  9. ah good old ray...i shall do that if i hit a brick wall..going to try this ridiculous test first haha and visually inspecting the ignition switch
  10. is there a way to diagnose ignition switch as the fault?? i can put the obc on and all is well then i start the car..the display holds for about 3 seconds and then doesnt display the normal readout ...quite strange really so yea how would i check for the ignition switch being the issue?
  11. oh and all the buttons work on the raido area so i can change between radio and cd etc and stations and volumn and all that...screen is blank but is backlit and at the bottom displays date and time
  12. ok car is an e39 540i think its the high obc button on stalk and read out on dash as well as on the screen Issues: screen has no display when car is running obc is accessable when car is not running but switches off when you start her up all the functions of the obc seem to be running in the background as in the km per liter etc the volumn knob is quite sensitive at times..turning it slowly it can sometimes just go straight to full blast and the buttons for the radio on the steering wheel have stopped working is this a relay-i-bus issue or what? where do i begin to look and how would i diagnose?cheers
