just recalled that when i go the car about 2 years before it was written off the previous owner must have been in a small accident on the right side aswell becuase i notice a small ripple and dent in the bumper so perhaps the bumper bars were replaced at that point...still a little bummed that i missed out on buying it back
-
interesting bro...tech one should bolt straight on as its pre facelift...didnt know it was a facelift bumper before the accident either...interesting
-
now question is will they fit in my car? m52 b25 right hand drive haha what kind of adjustment are we talking about here?
-
it never did that even after the crash! everything was sweet on that car driveline wise except for the tiny shudder...what happened between being written off and getting to you mmm car has new master and slave cylinder for clutch so you can rule that out...gearbox and diff oil about 8 months old i did them myself so mmm
-
whats it doing bud? there was a vibration at certain speeds just taking off around 15 kms if i can remember accurately....was told prop shaft incorrectly re-assembled??the shudder isnt from the gearbox, its always been really good and the clutch doesnt shudder or slip ...got under it and geebo was good no cracks etc...hangar bearing was good aswell and made sure it was pre loaded correctly so i guess i just got used to it always meant to have it balanced but soo expensive....hope you get it sussed though mate:)

how much did the OBX's set you back?

headers mmm sounds good, but how much?whose got some ?did a little research emphasis on little and heard some ok things about the ebay headers being a good improvement over stock wasnt going to do alot to this car but looking at the things ive ordered and the plans ...well...that has changed
-
appears people trying to get them off you allready...had the same thing and i got compliments on them everywhere i took the car hence i kept them trust , youll regret it mate.keep the alpinas

whos got one?haha should come out of a e39 520i, looking to change the one in mine to a slightly higher ratio, from my research its got a 3.15 in there at the moment but will need to hop under it and check properly sometime soon. anyway please PM me if you have a diff of this kind price etc and if youd be interested in a part trade perhaps as the diff i have is good and quiet with no issues thanks

wanted the parts replaced with new or existing good bumpers etc ...youd be surprised ayt how much the kit itself costs and yes it could be plastic moulded etc and filled but it will not last long unfortunately and thats after speaking to quite a few repair shops something to do with the plastic bmw uses ..from memory the radiator has also been damaged, the motor flew forward so could be associated damage and the front chassis a little twisted from the nature of the impact and the engine suffered a little as well so yea it stacks up quite fast but im sure shel be on the road again soon
-
so i got round to doing mine with absolutely impressive results!!came out like new..i used the 3M headlight restoration kit and drill...worked a charm il try post pics soon..used 500 grit 5 paads at approx 1500-2000 rpm then 800grit 2 pads at the same speed then 3000 water paper pad 4 to 5 times over light with 2000rpm approx and then polished 4 times took about 2 hours all up and came out an absolute beauty so if you want to do yours then use the 3M kit from car colours it is the absolute sh~t!!

yea i never changed those wheels they suited it far too well was my car...sad to have been written off and didnt get the chance to buy it back..car was going to get the rust sorted and the pice of paint that came loose before the accident, just wasnt my week....guy backed into fender left no note, then bus drove into the fender(same fender) and didnt admit guilt then came the crash into a car parked in a slip way stormy weather at 80km...managed to bring the speed down alot though but still hit was never stolen or recovered and the clutch is good az never ever slipped not once...ever ...the engine is a 2.7 super eta bottom end 885 head all new most things engine wise and chipped it goes very well 3.64 LSD enjoy it bud it sure was a fun car:)
-
i used an ebay chip for an e30 went much better after but that was because it was a stroker which reacted well to the extra fuel i think from the chip, no problems at all though have a few friends running them with good results actually haha nothing amazing though...at all just a tad peppier but youll notice it
-

checked the whole write up on besein systems for the vanos replacement, they show a locking block needed for the rear of the cam shafts? i got my seals on order anyone keen to help me out if i can borrow(will pay rent ) what they used to lock the rear camshafts? cam sproket turning tool im sure its easy enough to jimmy or ply with something else carefully but the locking blocks seem important thanks in advance
-
tad lost bud...all it says it superchips ltd so get intouch with them? i understood that the customer key has the original map on it but its not a gaurantee that the ecu has been remapped in the car?i would assume so though haha how would i check though...the diagnostic stuff i have is a little module that plugs into the obd port thats about it good for reading faults etc
-
its a 523i haha im not sure if dyno worthy to be honest and yea naother close to hundred bux which i could spend towards other car neccessities nice idea though ive got some diagnostic equipment would i be able to find out that way? perhaps a date on the software loaded to the ecu? anyone got any input as to how i can check for a remap? thanks and thanks for your input thus far
