Not really, Rockford Fosgate components in the front, Alpine 3525 amp, Sony XM222 amp, 10 inch boxed sub, Sony CDX C480 player, alpine somethings in the rear. I suspect it's being parted out as we speak.

Unless you drive around without a licence plate, what's the difference? Are you trying to suggest that thieves etc troll through sites like this to get rego numbers/trace cars, but pay no attention to the cars they're targeting when they're driving/walking around? Switch from milk to coffee.

Maybe it was nobody on here. Everytime I drive my Legacy, I see Bimmers, drive the Bimmers, see Legacys. The Bronzit one looked like it was on 17s, in fact it looked like one that was at Turners damaged about a month or so back

Same as Brent I suspect, buys them at Turners Damaged, or off people who are naive. He bought a 325i convertible with a "blown head gasket/major engine trouble" for about $3k. Flushed the radiator blockage out and presto, a good convertible. Nice guy actually and a good source of parts.

Will try it, but not sure anyone's too bothered. I assume in my ignorance that the brake light switch is connected to the pedal somewhere??

Hi William, Hoping to have it done next month, although I have my eye on another car, which would slow things down, monetarily speaking. Auckland Auto Trimmers in Grey Lynn were by far the best on price and also seemed very professional. They were (obviously) the cheaper quote above. I'm probably going to get the convertible done in leather. Their number is 376 4442 and they're in MacKelvie St. Cheers.

There's a guy selling a whole 520i manual (1987) on Trade Me. in Palmy I think. It's under BMW parts. Only $150 at the mo'. Sorry, tried to cut and paste the link, but have issues with a Mac at home and a PC at work. Good luck.

Once it's thru' the clearcoat/lacquer (whatever), you're pretty much screwed. Really hard to get out, which is why I clean the basket weaves with a toothbrush (no toothpaste tho'. there's a thought), much to the amazement of the neighbours.

Had 2 quotes for the convertible. $1500-1800 for BMW cloth, $1800-2800 for leather. Was $350 in BMW cloth for one front (sports) seat.

We have a '94 730i in the family, ex Singapore and have had it for 5.5 years. When you turn the lights on, the computer tells you the brake lights have failed. End of electrical faults. Did it when we bought it, still does, nothing else wrong and we've covered 100kms in it in that time, making it 150 odd in total. Like anything, it's luck of the draw. I've known NZ new cars with way worse faults. We've never even asked to get it fixed.

Most people seem to go for the Supra 'box, or Nissan (whatever goes on the back of a RB25DET) don't they? I know they're tough and can handle plenty of power. No idea how hard it is. I put 325iM springs and bilsteins in the convertible, best I can measure is 115mm to the jacking points/sills. I can now offer to grade gravel roads with the spoiler for a small fee. Minimal understeer, very flat cornering, lots of fun.

An S2000 is 240hp, with a 3 year 100,000km warranty and they're 6 years old. Peak power at 84, max engine speed, 85, sounds great.
