Drove to Auckland and back over the weekend.
Wow are we in for a brutal road construction season (summer).  The roads are just wrecked.

Wow, you are an optimist. Really think they’re going to fix them?
They are ridiculously bad, embarrassing for supposedly the main highway.

Mainly rubbing on the outer edge of the left-rear tyre. This car has 20" rims, with 275/30R20 on the rear - presumably reducing the space between tyre and car, compared to the intended factory setup of 18" or 19". It's an import from Japan - so is just as-it-came from there - no further mods by me. As I understand these originally came with 18" or 19" rims - so not sure if this was an "extra-special" model, or the if the previous Japanese owners changed them up after purchasing it. The black-n-white BMW badges (boot & bumper), the black front-grills also seem possibly non-factory-standard? Being my 1st BMW, I was not sure 🙂. Was in pretty premo condition though, and low kms, so it seems like it was treated pretty well.

Houses listed for sale. Call agent, be told it is under contract but they'll call if it fals through.

6 weeks later, house still listed for sale. Call agent, be told a contract extension was granted for the purchaser to sort some stuff out. Agent will call if it falls through.

Weeks later, still listed for sale. Call agent... Contract fell through, just gone under contract to new buyer. "What happened to you calling if the contract fell through?" "Oh. Does say that we would... Sorry."

Ask them for the unconditional date and call then. No reason they can't tell you. Or put in a back up.

FOR SALE signs in front of houses. House gets sold, some f**ker drives all the way out to slap a big red SOLD sign on it and leaves the bloody thing sitting there for another 3 months. Yes well done, you've sold a house. It served its purpose. Take your shitty sign and f**k straight off. Tempted to start setting them on fire.

Contact the REINZ or council,  from memory, a sold sticker is only allowed to stay up for 1 week.

    People in -

    • Late model mustangs (particularly ecoboosts, but applies to all)
    • Teslas with inane number plates
    • Pile of sh*t AU/BA etc falcons
    • GTIs with pops and bangs tunes
    • Ford rangers with all the middle age white man bedazzlements you can stick on
    • Anyone driving a modern "MG"

You are not cool. Nobody thinks you are cool.

    That is all.

I’ll add. To the idiot with the black e92 335i in Grey Lynn,  your bangs tune is sh*t and nobody cares.

Oh yeah people are taking the piss here at the moment.  So much so I don't even bother looking.
Unless you are getting mates rates or some sort of deal don't bother.

Same, $82 delivered vs $209 plus courier local.

Will have to thank @Palazzo then because i had never heard of Spareto until 4 mths ago. Certainly used them a number of times since as they have good pricing on what they do have, and luckily they listed them\ cross reference them to the BMW part numbers.

To be fair, I’d never heard of them until about 8 months ago when someone here (Mean?) suggested them.
I used them last week, 4 days from order to delivery and only 39% of the cost of local including delivery. I should have ordered more parts, the delivery was more than the parts.

My other $0.05 is they keep trying to low ball me on agreed value each year when the policy renews.  They're probably not they only company to do it but it still annoys me :)

That’s funny, they were $15k higher than my purchase price on agreed value and are still happy with it 2 years later.

  9. I have AA, 3 claims, contents and vehicle, vehicle was done to an excellent standard (was very minor), first contents also excellent, one now has been easy but slow, COVID apparently. No complaints, fair premiums, discounts for combined and the Aa membership is pretty much paid for in discounts on insurance and wof.

My understanding is you can update them in the vehicle if you have an unsanctioned copy of ISTA but those non-dealer services (unless your indy has registered with BMW) will be deleted if the car is ever plugged in again at the dealer.

To veer slightly off topic, what is the easiest way to get my car to recognise it has brand new brakes all round?

An extra $350 for a lifetime of heated seats is hardly going to break the bank.

The associated cost with making assembly line changes to accommodate all these changes are horrendous. I'll use the f15 as an example, they came with 4 different headlight options. The 4 lights that need to be designed and manufactured, then loaded into the assembly line at the right time.Thats 4 different lights that need to be held on the shelf for spares. Instead they can design and build one light, keep one light on the shelf at the dealership instead of waiting however long for parts from Germany.

Did the buyers ask for 4 different types of headlights? Or was that an option to upsell  for more revenue?
