Try this and report back. Back the starter bolts off till the locating pin at the top of it is clear. Slip a 1mm washer between starter and gbox housing over the locating pin so it doesn't fall in. Tighten starter. Start motor.

I think people might get confused with the 'thing' on the side of the throttle body that looks like a FBW motor but I'm pretty sure its a cruise control motor? Anyway, b28 feels a bit lifeless? I always thought so too. Even in manual it's not the life of the party. Perhaps it's the lack of 'powerband' as in it never feels like it comes to life as it revs? It was criticized when it was released too, hence the m54, which is a stonking mota save for the odd feel of the throttle.
