Haven't heard much from you lately Ali. I just helped my sister find a E36, We were mainly looking at 323i's & 325i's. The 323's had the nicer M3 style bumpers but the didn't go anywhere near as well as the 325's, you could really tell it was missing the 20hp from the topend. You could easily see how they had restricted it HP, inlet runners were 1/2 the size of the 325, single exhaust (2-2.25" maybe) compared to the 2x2" of the 325, it even sounded restricted. Bottom end they felt very similar, just when you rev'd then out did you really notice the diff. She settled on a silver '94 325i with 82k, with colour coded bumpers and clear corner & sidemarkers. I'll get her to join and post some pics for Y'all.

Won't MattA have them?? Left over from his Motronic to L-jet conv!?!?!
-
I thought it would be a fair bit less than 9.0:1cr the 323 head has the same shape combustion chamber as the e head and pistons, say like this: (( The i heads and pistons are: || Combine and get: (| That was my logic!?!?!
-
That is why you can ADVANCE the timing!!!

Sorry Sam, I just love to tease, might encourage someone to knock me off my thrown. I'm not really an arrogant person, quite the opposite. You only need as much power and you should be just as quick M20/M50/S50 etc...

Or it is stuck on axle stands in the workshop Pick up the wheels tomorrow Then for tyres and discs, springs, aaarrrrgggghhhh the list goes on

By the sounds of it your current engine is tip material!?!?! I hear a 2.7l coming on!! Then add a turbo and you may be close to keeping up. Here is something for you to think about. Stick my 323i head onto your 325 bottom end (replace damaged piston) and you will have a low compression 325i, find a suitable turbo (CT-26 from a MA70 supra)and bob's your uncle!! You could stick the link straight on because the 325 should not have a mechanical dizzy that you need to modify. Sounds grunty already!!

plently of E28 528e & 525e's around!!!
-
Welcome. Like These. How much do you want?? I may be keen!! PS. Nice shinny tyre there grant.
-
most wheel places stock up their used tyres and every so often get them taken away. Places like Baurepairs *sp* aren't aloud to sell them but they often let them go as $40 "wheel alignments" if you catch my drift!! I have a pair you can have but it would prolly cost more to send them up than getting some there.
-
Ouch, I felt that from here!!!
-
something to do with Andrews parents new car, maybe!?!?!
-
Shadowninja: drop me a PM if you want some $$$ for your old tyres, I need a set to push the E30 around on!!

ATE - Online Catalog This will cover all the ATE parts on our cars. It has a good model referencing features that let you know what other model cars use the same parts, good to check out before a trip to the wreckers. Also has alot of important measurement info in there. Enjoy

I meant a LSD would be an optional extra not the DSC+T + ABS + "you don't need to know how to drive" features.
-
Thanks aliluya. probably not. BMW have seemed to go for the DSC+T setup which requires a Open Diff or a Torsen LSD. DSC+T works by applying the brakes to the wheel that is spinning, this doesn't work with a conventional LSD because it is defeating the purpose of it (to keep both wheels at a similar speed) A Torsen LSD works on Torque multiplication, ie. one wheel spins with Z amount of torque so it applies 3xZ to the opposite wheel, so if you never break traction (by the system appling brakes to that wheel) the LSD function doesn't come into it, thus Torsen LSD's are compatable with the DSC+T system. I think it would be an optional extra if anything.

Plugs?? dodgy CAS?? (crank angle sensor, in the bell housing I think??) AFM??
-
Thanks for all the good advise guys. Sam: 5lug BBS's, forgot the dam camera, all I can say is 245/40's make the back of an E30 look very narrow!! Napier: If only a LSD was as easy to find as a set of 17" BBS wheels!! But yes, I have to do something in that dept!!! Gus: Rest assured, there will be some nudity this evening!!! (not just me I hope)

Test fitting at lunch time, mmmm, BBS.Scary thing about 30 is, I told the wife not to even think about kids before then, and I'm running out of time!!
