They look good. How are they constructed, steel, fibreglass or full carbon fibre frame?? I would like to see an E30 one, have you got any pics.
-
I was thinking of making it bigger. LOL I was just having a play!!
-
I'm sure we could come to an arrangement.
-
I think you will find they are mutually exclusive. If you think how much new tyres are the wheels are pretty cheap!! But if you ain't got the cash then it don't matter.
-
Are they staggered?? 7" wide fronts & 8" wide rears?? Shame they are painted black, looks like pretty thick powder coating!?!?!
-
member No.2!! No Idea why mine doesn't work!! Stopped then started again, no it stopped again!! And it is not the SI board, 'cause I don't have one.
-
I've got those wheels for sale too!!
-
Sparks don't sound good, flames are OK It wasn't the zorst hitting the ground and sparking?? maybe??
-
Dave and Andrew can comment on the ride. I really like the way it handles, it just squats too much with 292rwhp, and the fronts aren't the right length to use in my E36 suspension conversion. Gus, It's never bottomed out, good koni's you see!! Wasn't your E30 missing spring pads etc... thus making it real low?? Camber front and rear are -1.8 & -2.5
-
rears: Still with heaps for tread for you gus.

Here are some tyre pics. Got a WOF last saturday. 8mm front and 7mm rear. I think 8mm is the depth when new. Fronts:

I don't seem to have that problem with my 323i!?!?! Sorry, couldn't help it. Seriously, Maybe the driveshaft support bearing?? or the diff bearings?? I'd imagine both of those would make a noise all the time though!! What about your trailing arm or sway bar links??? maybe when you change down it squats a little and groans when the components move?? ????

LSD from the 325?? Crossing fingers!!
-
Looks awesome Daniel, good work. I look forward to seeing it in person!! I presume it has recirculating ball steering as per 540i's etc... How do you find it compared to the rack 'n' pinion from the 318?? Response, vagueness!?!?!?!
-
Reckless: Go for the cheap stroker, 2.3l head on E28 525e bottom end. Then find A nice sized turbo, say a toyota CT-26 from a MA-70 Supra, slap it on running 6psi with some bigger injectors and bob's your uncle!!! I have a rebuilt 2.3l head if you are interested, comes with bottom end and 5spd attached!! Drop me a PM if you want to hook up over easter.

How much is it Daniel?? A friends dad just picked up a E39 540i w/65'ish km on the clock for $35k. It is awesome, has black leather int, heated elec seats, 5spd auto with manual mode(the best auto I have ever been in), sports suspension, 17" ///M Wheels. After been in the 4.4 V8 I don't think a 6cyl would quite cut it. I love it, definitley a car to aspire to. my 2c

I do it regularly. Yeah, the E30 is prolly the easiest I've found. The hardest part is getting the blips right!?!?! As you said "practice makes perfect"

Dam, if only I had the $$$ to get the E30 back on the road with it's new bits. mmm, taking on M3's, what fun!! -
Yip any E30 except M3's. ABS will work fine, pad wear will not work, could prolly make it work though!!

I think GM is refering to adapting a LSD Centre to our BMW crown wheel. The prob is the half shafts will most probably have different splines and the bearing carriers will be in correct size & spacing, worth a look though!!
-
??? sure how much the mounting brackets will be, prolly similar to my current ones which were ~$200pr If you are keen on some bigger brakes my current ones are forsale, have a look in the "forsale" section. rather not say how much $$$ I had to part with for the Big Reds. Can't really compare what I am doing to the porsche, movit, brembo kits that are avaliable, as I am assembling/manufacturing it all myself. The calipers are the same (or very similar) to those that come in the above kits, they have differential sized pistons (38/44) also to induce pad taper and disc cleaning when the brakes are applied. I will say it will cost alot less than the $2000 US you see the brembo kits going for!!

I'm not 100% sure either, never done it. I think you drill out the whole to the size bolt it uses (eg if it is for a M10 bolt use a 10mm drill bit) then tap a new thread to the next size up, thread the helicoil in and it is back to where you started. Don't quote me on that, it is just my understanding of the proceedure.

you just don't bother in the wet, coming on boost in 3rd (2700rpm) it will let loose. It's got more hp than a stock 325i avaliable under 3500rpm so you don't need to use all the rpm. In the dry it is alot of fun!!
