That sounds good so far. Depending on what the final colour/result I was thinking of doing my wheels on my rally car. It's cheep enough that if it doesn't work it's no big deal. Might source some and give it a go! Thanks all

Bolts up all good although one of the pipes is feeler gauge close to the block. If you have a good 1/4 socket set its not too hard. Had to unbolt the steering rack and disconnect the steering shaft to be able to slide both pieces in at the same time.

Silver and yellow: Not sure if i like orange and silver: Edit: Actually the only thing I dont like about the orange/silver E46 is the orange headlight covers. The wheels look bad arse

Haha, I had no idea of this. I make a point of using the left lane and passing people even if the right lane is free. Some times it wakes them up and they move over after ive passed. People just arnt educated to keep left, there's no push from any governing body or the police (that Ive seen) so it'll never change. Most people have no idea there in the wrong and there are plenty of "screw all the people doing more than 100Kph" types as said above.

This would be awesome! Ive always wanted to put a V8 in my compact but I have an annoying thing about keeping it a BMW engine tho. A Toyota V8 would be an awesome choice so you should def do it! And from my experience the compact E36 is exactly the same engine bay wise as a standard e36.

I was given some advise to run a flexable line from the housing to the T that I mounted on the body of the car. Saves the T from vibrating and causing it to crack. Sounded legit to me so I followed it. Just something to thing about

I ended up using a standard 2 pot rear Mitsi evo caliper (road going brembo) and e36 m3 rear rotors. Pad wise I think I ended up with Ferodo DS somethings. Seams to work sweet. My two cents: If you can afford a pedal box you should serriously look into it. I know my brother and dad have had big issues in the past trying to find a good brake bias by trying diffrent pad materials and bias valves etc. Waste of time and money in my eyes. With a box installed you can run what ever and have it set up after a few skid tests (mind you the master cylinder size can be a bit of a guess to start with). Its a good idea if you ever plan on changing the rear brales at some stage too.

I got pulled up on the same thing when i got the cert done on my compact. Even though all standard parts i still needed two hoops being a two piece driveshaft. Good point on the insurance thing too.

Nice!! You wont be dissapointed. Now get a pedal box in there... So good as you can change pad material and change the bias to suit. More rear brake always looks cool too haha

Awesome! We'll be in the same class. I cant make Rotorua but plan on doing South Island. Cant wait to see the progress. Kayne's awesome. OMG I love that thing!!

What diameter are they? I have 4 pot APs on my E36 compact for targa and there fantastic. AP rotors are way better than the likes of wilwood, standard BMW rotors or anything else ive used or been involved with. My advise is get some good brakes and APs are a fantastic brand in my eyes.

We were having a well earnd brecky at the cafe next door, glad you saw it! Just had a closer look at the car and the only damage is a few stone chips, a large patch of paint that came off with a sticker and a worn guard liner that must have been touching the wheel on full lock. Its all washed and parked up ready for the next event. Looks like I might be coming to the next slide sessinos event at hampton, going to take some mates for a ride as an apology for my anti socialness during the build haha. Still stoked to have it in one piece!

Thanks guys! The car was faultless. Its so easy to drive any one could have done well. Im over the moon that the only problems we had were a few loose bolts. So stoked to finish esp as my codriver made the effort to come all the way from Auz. The results are unbelievable, A lot of fast guys in front either fell of the road or had mechanical problems. The thing im stoked with is that we won the second to last stage! Haha, Hard to believe really. The tyres were good. I dont really have experiance with anything else all though i did run the "wet" tyres for the first two days and put the sticky tyres on for the last two days. Both were good. Here are the dyno results I adjusted the height then weighed the car and was shocked how even it ended up!! This is race ready with spare tyre, about 10ltrs of fuel but no driver or codriver etc. This is what it looks like with my imported australian cousin in the co drivers seat and me in the drivers seat. Minimum weight for the car is 1350kgs so I have to find about 50kgs of weight to strap in. Will proabably put it under the spare tyre as its easy and im still having problems with too much rear brake bias/ lock up. Bring on Targa!

Took it for its last test drive. Cant wait to thrash it now.

Sounds like fun but im unsure at the moment. I'm really looking forward to a break from cars haha.

Sump guard is 90 percent done. Just have to get a couple of bends in the 4mm alloy plate and its done. Id like to revisit this current set up as the bottom of the radiator is still out in the open but im running out of time. Targa is less than a week away! I really need to make a couple of strong mounting points up front but with an e36 there is nothing structural below the two main chassis rails. Ill have to use a fair amount of steel but thats for another time... Spare wheel and jack now mounted. E: Also have a sparco steering wheel. It feel really nice but I should have got a dished wheel to pull it closer in. The boss kit i measured was a lot longer than the one I ended up with. Will probably be making another trip to Abrasive Waterjet Services to get a large spacer made up.

Am doing the final round of the south island endurance serries at this tracks in a few weeks. Its the first meeting and I cant wait to see what the tracks like!
