No I didn't forget Glenn, you didn't read my post properly! "diff, diff cradle....."

    M3 Suspension

The M3 "chassis" or bodyshell is identical to the lesser models- it is the same part! It is just everything that is hung off it, that has been uprated. And it is just about everything too on the M3, diff, diff cradle, "Z" arms, halfshafts, bearings, brakes, struts, top shoock mounts, ARB's, etc. are all different on the M3. The bodyshell is the same part though, so whatever fits an M3 can be transferred on to your 3 series whatever. Mind you, the M3 3.25 diff in your 320i auto probably won't be a good idea!
  3. I was just going to put these straight on Trademe, but seeing as you asked here are some details. They are Revolution RFX wheels, 3 piece and have never been fitted to a car, nor had tyres fitted to them, and are in as new condition. Unfortunately they are 4x 4" PCD, which equates to about 4x102mm. They can be redrilled in between to a different stud pattern as the centres are solid between the existing stud holes, so not a big or expensive option. Sizes are 15x7.75 and 15x8.75.Will get back here regarding offsets, but they are quite big! Looking for $1000 for the set of four. some better pics here.
  4. A stealth bomber, for the road- Yeehaa! Just need to paint it matt black, that would really F$%K 'em!
  5. SOLD ALREADY in just 20 minutes- TRADEME just got BLOWN away by Bimmersport! :thumb:
  6. I think you will find the a unit that will actually jam using power output, will have a few other "issues".These will be things like, the risk of microwaving anybody walking in front of the unit, the amount of sheilding required to keep the car occupants "safe" from the unit. As well as the physical size of the unit. These an old aircraft graveyard or 2 in Arizona that might nett the necessary "goods" to do the task. The RMR passive jammers units dont work anywhere, they have been tested in both the US (by Car and Driver), and in NZ by NZ Car, and their claims are crap. If fact the radar detector within the unit is only average for NZ conditions. The Car and Driver article had a microwave expert gave a speel on the technical reasons why they would never work from what I can recall. Yep, I do have a pretty good understanding of how these things work, I have just tried to simplify my explanation a bit so it doesn't turn into a novel! For an active jammer to be effective against police radar, it simply needs to send back a signal more powerful than the one the police are blasting at you- none of the jammers on the market even come close to this. I think the old "Hawk" police radars were around 7 watts output, the newer systems will be a bit more. We are not talking about levels of power that will heat your lunch up, or render you incapable of having babies! I do know of illegal jammers that will effectively work against police radar in NZ. (but don't bother pm'ing me 'cos I won't tell you where you can get one!) While I agree that we have a serious problem in this country as far as driving standards go, the LTSA's approach of targetting speeding drivers as a wholesale solution to all of the deaths and carnage on our roads is in my opinion very narrow minded.
  7. A set of four 15" wheels, these were all painted gold inside and out, then had the outer lip machined. They haven't had a lot of use since being done. Only one centre cap, in very clean and tidy condition. Good set of wheels for new E30 series.$500 for set of four.0274 901 865 or 09 4435344 I will leave them up here for a week or two, then they will go on trademe if not sold.cheers Conrad
  8. Gutted dude, at least they admitted blame, which doesn't always happen . I hope it all works out okay for you.
  9. Cheers"bro" for that advice, I will keep it in mind!As Cain correctly pointed out, any unit capable of jamming a police radar device can get you in trouble, due to laws regarding transmission on radio frequencies. The American "passive" jammers try to get around this by "bouncing" the police signal back in a scrambled form, only problem is, they are low powered and don't work on our police radar units. The only way to effectively jam these units is with a device that constantly transmits and is high powered enough to override anything the constabulary has aimed at you, very illegal and not available, as far as I know, on the open market. Laser jammers get around any laws by being infra red light transmitting devices, and as there are no laws regarding transmission of light it is unlikely you will be prosecuted. Funnily enough, the instruction on use for the laser jammer I have just bought tells you to check your speed if the device goes off, slow if necessary then to switch the unit off, so that the police won't suspect you have a jammer fitted. The main place laser guns are used from my experience are on the Motorways, where a cop can easily sit on an overbridge or by an offramp aiming the gun at you. Out in the country you are more likely to be hit by a radar device or speed camers.

    M3 Suspension

An M3 will be cheaper and worth more when you go to sell.......I have E36 M3 front and rear "swaybars" and springs if you want to go the 328 route.
  11. I think E36 M3 headers will fit, the bolt pattern on the head is the same on the M54 as the S50. But good luck finding a second hand set for reasonable $$$$, they are $8K new!
  12. I just bought one, got it two days ago and haven't fitted it yet. It is a "Blinder extreme 20" or something, a friend of mine brought it back from overseas for me, he has had a few in the past and recommended this one. Operation is pretty simple, it transmits infra red light which blinds laser guns, and as there are no laws for transmisssion of light it is 100% legal. Unlike the radar jammer he told me about, which transmits radar waves and can jam any police radar, is made to order, and is 100% not legal!
  13. pretty sure that 2002 and E21 use 20 degree trailing arms, and E30 are 15 degree. I know where there is a set of E21 traling arms, which have been beefed up, fitted to a modified 2002 rear beam, with camber and toe adjustment. It came out of a 2002 Turbo race car. I will check with the owner and see if he wants to sell it.
  14. No he is right, the four door has rounded ends on the lower seat squab so you can get in the back easier, on the two door they are squared off. still fits though.
  15. Did the 6 hour race at Puke yesterday in unbelievable conditions,it even hailed at one point, I have never been to a race meeting like it! My 2 hour driving stint consisted of only 24 laps under the green, the rest were spent behind the safety car! Imagine going into the braking area at the end of the straight at over 200kph, with no more than 10 metres visibility! A bit nerve racking to say the least, you are just hoping no one has had a moment and blocked the track!..... Car went like a train, a few "moments" but we survived unscathed to finish 12th out of about 35 cars, so happy with that. Full credit to John DeVerre-Ellery for a well run event in atrocious conditions.

    Flywheels

I have my M3 engine sitting on the floor at the moment, you are welcome to come and measure the flywheel it if you want, not sure where you are from though. A point to note, the E36 M3 engine doesn't take kindly to a super light flywheel, I have been told 40% weight reduction maximum, apparently it upsets the operation of the vanos unit when you take all of that damping action out. I don't think the same would appliy to the M52, which had a much more basic vanos system. And as Kerry correctly pointed out, the M20 one fits too, a friend of mine fitted one to an E46 M54, so it seems all of these engines have interchangability in this area.

    'M6'

Yes I have seen that one on TM, looks like good value at first glance, and they say it can be registered as it is over 20 years old.(and LHD) Beware of rust though, I am not suggesting this one is rusty, but just heard of a recent M6 import from Japan that is very rotten. And an automatic M6- sounds dodgy to me!

    E30 318is turbo

No not really, I don't think he has decided yet what he wants to do. I will give you all a holler if and when he decides to sell it. A bit hard trying to think of a realistic price for it though, it owes him probably between 20-25K total, but what it is actually worth is another matter completely. And yes, forged pistons and a lot of other goodies, and 18 to 20 pounds of puff.

    E30 318is turbo

8 or 9 pounds boost will give 220hp on this engine, this runs a lot more than that!
  20. The 6 speed is the same family of box used in the 850i and E36 M3,as well as the E39 M5.Problem being the front half of the casing is different to the M3 and 850i, to suit the bolt pattern of the V8. You must source a V8 box for it to bolt in, no other way unfortunately!

    E30 318is turbo

Yep he does, do you know him? He is working in Oz at the moment, and is considering selling it.
  22. Spotted this on turners website, minimal damage by the looks of it, white 2 door no sunroof, only downside is that it is a 1600 and not an 1800. Probably be really cheap though, worth a look I reckon. http://www.turners.co.nz/TabId/188/vguid/0...3D/default.aspx

    E30 318is turbo

The ///M is still there, very subtle, you have to be standing at the front to see it. The skirts were not original on the car. I think there were a few surprised people at Puke who wondered how the hell the a 318 blew past them!
