Hi guys Is it prety much a straight swap from a 1.9ldohc motor to a 2.8motor in an e36? I mean like are the engine mounts the same? is there enough room to fit it? wat work is needed coz all E36 bodies are the same ae.

I got mean hookups direct fom germany. Some transmition bits that was gona cost me $1500 I got for $400 with shipping I will NEVER buy from a BMW place here in NZ. Im not stupid.....

when im lazy i just spray with de-greaser and waterblast or hose off. not perefect tho and mine are a pain to clean....

Thanks!!! Im not painting the mirrors coz they go with my tinted windows and they keep that line going. Ive just put my bumpers on today and looks really good. im painting the (sideskirts) this weekend. I reckon I have done just as good a job iff not better than like one of the gundies down the road... they are just sooo slopy. Ive seen ALOT of cars that under the paint you can see their rough 80grit sanding marks. I went down to 600 grit. I chickend out doing my side mouldings though coz I reckon Itl bee too white. anny input appreciated! and I agree with the clears just no mulah

Yeah It has a chain. Ill pull off the rocker cover tomorow, im still busy with my other 318 (colour coding ) I would really like to drop a 2.5L 6cyl in there but it would be just as hard to find one that runs sweet with ecu and loom and everything as a m44 bare motor. and its too expensive and most of all I reckon it would be really hard to put all the wiring in and hook it up into the dash and sh*t. and then Ill want a manual gbox $$$ and then that wud mean diff etc... and once its done i have the fuel to wory about but if you know of annything Ill def think about it. cheers

I havent taken it apart yet, (just got it home last night) The lady had no idea wat was wrong with it. it missed its last servive and it was leaking oil (bottom of engine is covered in oil and water) It has ABSOLUTE ZERO compression and it isnt the headgasket, the gasket may be blown and the head warped but its something more serious. Im also thinking the timing belt may be broken? when you turn the key to start it it turns over as if there are no plugs in it! otherwise the car is quite good. (crap tampered with stereo tho) if you know of a motor or a crashed car id really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Yeah thats the one. but it has a few little things apart from the motor that are poked, heheh I got a good price on it tho If you know of a cheap place that has a motor, with even a craked blok will do. Thanks!

hehehe yeah your right about the proportion thing. Mine has m3 body kit so it wont be that bad. and hell yes they are expensive! I might get some copies and just rip the bolts off that make it look 2 piece
