You can never be tooooo careful eh...one for each hand! :mosh: That E28s system looks good, but Im with gus on this one - how effective would it be if the fire is down low in the engine bay?

I get the impression that 325isimon was wanting info on turboing his exisiting engine - Glenn has put a Toyota engine in... EDIT: Of course Im not saying that Glenn is not a good source of info regarding engine conversions and other turbo related questions.... but you can see my point.... Have a look thru this forum - there have been quite a few threads about people wanting to turbo or supercharge, so there will be a wealth of information. Something Sic posted back in 2003... There are more on here about the place - just search!

He posted this yesterday morning - maybe hes at work or hasnt been on the computer - its only the next day so far - give him/her a day or 2 - I know I sometimes go a couple of days before i check my email...They are very nice wheels and I was considering changing mine - but I like the M5 replicas a little more eh!
-
I suppose they have a "Do not testdrive" and "Do not buy" sign as well? Well if you had a car like that on the lot would you want every little snot nosed kid on school holidays running their hands over it and smearing the glass when trying to look in the window? They wouldnt stop someone from taking it for a test drive - as long as they looked like they would have the $$$ to pay for it - if you went in in bare feet and torn jeans etc I doubt they would let you drive it. I would love to do that - rock in in a P.O.S, carrying a brief case, in bare feet, torn jeans, and scruffy top, and request a test drive, then when they turn your ass down, open a brief case full of cash and just say, "well, I guess you dont wanna sell it then..." I think that would be priceless! :mosh: Of all places I never expected to see a Ferrari, I came across 1 in Huntly - I had my BMW in for a windscreen replacement and heres this convertable Ferrari sitting in their workshop - needed a windscreen too. Couldnt believe it!

What the? That kitten should just smack them with its paw - the duckling cant have that much of a grip on the knife - I mean, afterall, its only got wings - not hands!
-
Well, since Cain has sorted you out, dont worry, but if you type E36 parts into the search option or BMW parts (that sort of thing) and look thru the ads you should come across at least 2 being wrecked
-
Looks quite good - how about a front shot of your car? Thats kinda missing from the whole sequence!
-
Hey, would it be driveable (with wheels, radiator and seat) or does it need to be towed?
-
How much without the chromies?
-
Hey man, Trademe is your friend! I notice there is a couple of traders wrecking E36s on there at the moment - you should be able to get a good deal off there - I scored a complete front bumper rather cheap off there (plus a couple of other bits and pieces) for $300 including freight from Dunedin! Good luck! By the way, how did it come off?
-
So buy the package deal there, put your springs in, and sell the kings on Trademe Simple solution and your still getting a primo deal (as Glenn said - they arent your average Sports....)

Im in the same boat, going to have a shell to have "removed" soon - I was going to drop it across my mates gate so he cant get out in the morning, but if someone will actually pay to come get it then sh*t, thats the way for me - saves dragging it and leaving a big trail of sparks heading out to its final resting spot. The other alternative is, there are places round (not sure bout Auckland, but Napier/Hastings definitely) that give $10 fuel voucher for any old wreck - thats also a good way, but if you have to hire a trailer to get it there then its still going to cost about $50 to ditch! damn Looking even better than in the last thread! Thats now one of my favourite non M5 E34s around
-
didnt realise you were into that!!! Excellant, we will have to catch up sometime....Back on topic - thats looking really sweet - I didnt see this thread until today - Thats a very nice car man! :mosh:

Thanks for the massive response - I think that pink is definitely out of the question - but that black center silver lip has me thinking - Also, shadow chrome would be pretty nice - as was mentioned, better resale and it makes them look more genuine (not that I care if they look OEM or not) They are definitely chrome dipped - there is one wheel that is almost half peeled - Its time to act on it! It takes away from the final look of the car. Need to get my bumper sorted out too. (from the unavoidable roadkill) Black door handles are factory on this - I know, I want them silver too - it looks a lot better silver along the bottom than grey like that. I will get photos when I get it out of the shed. Cheers
-
Agreed - motion carried! No wing on thatLooks very nice bro - just needs to be clean a! (and the clear sides and rears) :thumb: :mosh:
-
heres a clearer shot of the car - i took the shot over a year ago so the sills have been painted silver - I just dont have any newer pics at the moment
-
I have had enough of the chrome wheels - especially since one of them is having a cry and peeling... I have decided to powder coat them - either a very similar silver to the car or white. I wanted to go for the shadow chrome look that the original M5 ones have, but I cant find anywhere that does it! So, polar white or silver? (or other)

Im going to vote smoked. However, what I am more interested in, is how on earth did you get the people in the background to hold exactly the same pose while you changed the lights over?
-
Im not sure about the E39, but the E36s have a little tab on each side, which when gently pried with a small screwdriver opens up (hinged on the stereo side) to reveal a screw behind each one - undo that and your head unit should slide out. As for what it could be - yeah loose wires are a possibility, or a blown channel. Dont the 5 series come with an amp under one of the seats or something odd like that? So it could be a fuse. I dont know - screw the OEM sh*t - chuck an MP3 player in the dash and then you wouldnt have any need for a stacker. Upgrade the wiring for the speakers at the same time and you should be jake. But then again, take all this with a grain of salt, Im just going off my experience with an E36 (which was rip out the old, carefully install the new....

I have been doing those sorts of Kms lately - come home from Auckland on a Friday night, head back up on the sunday night - I have been doing about 1700km per week - and get this - its only costing me 2 tanks of fuel a week (aprox $80) - Cos Im doin it in my first ever turbo..... Diesel! CherHowever when I was doing it in my bimmer (first 3 months of the year) i did 20,000km and the total for the 3 months (fuel card bills) was $2800. Expensive, but the drive is so much fun - especially when you get the Napier-Taupo road late at night and dont have to contend with tourists doing 50 - 70km thru the windy part. The windy part is what makes the trip so much fun! Sit on 100km round all the corners. Maybe thats why my gas bill was so huge? As ssems to be the trend here, my bimmers not bad on trips, but round town it drinks a lot of gas - but then again I suppose it depends on how I drive!

Happy birthday bro - once again I am late with it - but only a day late this time! :mosh: Cher

Hummer forum - - - Had a fender bender today. 24 hurt, 10 killed. Do I have to get the black touch-up paint from the dealer? He's 25 miles away. That's $35 in gas. :mosh: :mosh: :mosh: Thats all class!

Im even later - Happy Birthday bro - hope you had a good one eh!
