Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 Can anyone tell me where it's come in from, Righthand drive, speedo in kms, no kit, tourist delivery. English ones are in miles, so not there I wouldn't have thought. Wouldn't expect tourist del to come thru Japan, Is it most likely to be Germany, ex factory? Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 Unusually for him the plate checks out as belonging to that car, but I don't want to know badly enough to fork out for the Vin number.

Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) If that's right, then it's probably ex factory? Looks tidy, but needs the kit. don't like the wheels either. Edited September 24, 2008 by Silver Fox
mr E34 11 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 What value would you put on a tidy E28 M535i silver fox? Gee the engine bay in an E28 is a mess compared to the E34.
martyyn 2 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Definately needs the kit and new wheels but I wouldnt have thought it would sell at that price. His start is probably closer to the truth but given his history Im not sure Id even want to pay that.
Mark 178 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 I think the kit was an option. Not all M535's have them. Also, I feel sorry for the poor guy that bought the "1995" 318i that's actually a '91... yikes.
Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 What value would you put on a tidy E28 M535i silver fox? Gee the engine bay in an E28 is a mess compared to the E34. Engine bay in that is the same as mine right down to the air filter and ali screen.I paid $3000 for mine, auto, similar k's, 12 months ago. Premium for manual, maybe $2000 to $3000, so with the market as it is, I'd have it at about $5500 to sell, unless someone who badly wanted one came along? Lovely to drive, I have the manual conversion to do mine already, just haven't got around to it yet.

Wouldn't mind an Alpina E28. The M30 engine has alot of untidy stuff in an E28, even those bracket supports on the intake, the final swansong in the E32/E34 was the tidiest. Guest SamSpargo Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Mine says build in germany on my carjam, but we all know that's not the case. And since WHEN have BBS Bugatti rims been "lightweight" ???
Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 I wonder if the box is a genuine close ratio or not? Would add to the value if it was. I doubt it tho.

If infact a "tourist delivery" car -it could have been specced as per what was ordered. Our E12 was a tourist delivery car straight from the factory & specced to the previous (first) owners requirements.

Palazzo 477 Report post Posted October 15, 2008 Live and let live, I don't understand all the fuss either. Having questionable taste in paint trim for your car and making smart answers to people with genuine questions just makes you someone to ignore in my book. There are plenty more truly dodgy traders out there in the world. I assume he drives the E39 540 with Strat I plate also?
