I like your creativity with the cluster! B) If only it were true!

A picture facing directly into the hole might help, to me it only looks like a small chip in the face of the gauge.

i couldent get a picture 2night as the flash on the cam ruins the whole pic straight on, all thats in there is the number 06 about 2-3mm deep and its really small, isn't that much to see but ill take a pic 2moro in the light

haha i rev the sh*t outta it and theres no light its just a little hole with the number 06 in it, i'm prolly gunna take it apart this weekend and replace the SI board battery, to me it looks like there is a dial behind it and the number can be changed

it is weird how i haven't seen any other rev counters like it in an e30, maybe it got replaced and its a rev counter from another car? as the only other rev counters in e30's i see have fuel millage at the bottom.

I was under the impression that they are "tamper lights", i.e. they come on if the speedo has been tampered with

Is it a light to tell you that you have exceeded 100k's an hour? a lot of jap import cars have this sort of warning.

according to this page on StrictlyETA.net its a cluster coding plug which appears on the earlier model clusters. Not sure with the e36's having something next to the speedo though, would guess tamper lights like crockett.
