Ayo peepz,

Mah namez Shafee and i drive a bmw e30 318 1986, ill post pics up when i get the chance.

Mah beamers automatic but so far NO manual has been able trah kip ub with it. waz guna du a conversion buh mah mrs cant dryve a manual and so thot id show ppl wuddubb in mah auto!!! lawlz and dayum she flyz!!

Itz got a couple minor modz dun du it but am still working awn it to try make it the best and bring owt the baby beast in it.

Im into mah boi racing and draggz too.

BUT... i got a prob!!

Mah beamer saez itz top speed is 240km/h which pretty much all beamers do, so it duz du 240km/h buh when im owt racing it redlinez at 160km/h for sum reason, im thinking it may be the auto gearbox not locking in 4th gear but yeh for some reason it just redlines at 160km/h and just wont shift a upper gear so i cant go ne faster as itl blow the engine hence redlining it which pisses meh off koz itz such a awesome car, i dont understand what could be the problem?

Doez newun know whatz wrong with it and any ideaz on how to fix this?

Really wana get this problem fixed becoz till then i cant bring the beast owtah it...

And makes sad and mad at the same tyme lawlz koz its just a awesome car to drive with all the benefits and now itz got a problem!

Okay, my bmw says its top speed is 240km/h but it does not go that fast... it starts to redline at only 160km/h and im not too sure why this is happning but my guess was it could be the gearbox, but then agen im not sure....

anyone who can help??

Does your car have overdrive? 160 does seem a bit weak, it should do at least 170.

Have a look online, just because the speedo says what it says it dont mean it does. My car has a 240kph speedo, but bmw states the top speed at 190. Same with like a R34 GTR or something, 300kph speedo, but realisticaly would never hit 300 in a speed bowl or something. Also you lose some top speed being a auto, also if you had half a gram of common sense you would realise street racing is for knobheads who ruin the image of all car lovers in this country, go to a track or a strip then you might get some sensible answers.

sweet bo ill have a look online, but im quite sure it should do well over 160km/h at leats 180 t0 200km/h because iv had a talk to the bmw specialists about its top speed and they say it should do well over that for sure.

And bo why you being a hater on street dragz?

If i had the money i would go do it legally but i bet you dont have a clue how much that would cost.

This forum may not be as 'badass' as others with every brother from another mother running 'cuttiez' and neons but im sure the etticqiute (sp) etc that the members hold is why this is one of the most successful car forums run in New Zealand, with by far some of the most knowledgable people i have ever met (Jochen, Glenn etc). So chill, man, this one is just alot different in my experience from the other crappy ones provided.

And yes I do know how much it costs to run a race car, my dad owns one and I have mates on here and elswhere that run them so I do, the costs are high, but there is a reason why cos people who run these cars respect the saftey of the public and enjoy pushing the limits in a controlled environment.
