E36 Air Con - M44

Recommended Posts

E36 318is - M44

Purchased the car, all the air con was hooked up but the belt was missing.

hooked up a new belt.

Air con isn't working

looking closely at the air-con pump it doesn't look like the internals are spinning, but that may just be my misjudgment. the air con light on the control panel comes on but perhaps it doesn't trigger the pump to engage??

How do i go about trouble shooting this and getting the air con up and running! damn it is hot!!

Silly question but have you check your fuses?

yeah check fuses , that's about all I've done. Could it be missing a relay?

if the ac gas is low or leaked out then the compressor wont turn on .

might be stuffed clutch or leaky air con panels inside or outside .

i have bits if needed.

Theres a pressure switch on the receiver dryer, if the gas pressure is low due to leaks, it wont switch on as Brent said. Get it checked by an air con specialist Ollie

BTW..dont by pass the pressure switch...youll end up damaging the compressor
