e30 Schnitzer

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Saturday was HUGE.Flight from Hastings at 6.40am,pick up car (& a couple of entertaining german backpackers)from ChCh, nice cruise to Picton, ferry etc, another not so nice cruise(I'm a bit sleepy by now) to Hastings getting home at 2am.

Certainly put the suspension to the test with my 2 passengers & a set of rims & tyres on board-did a wee bit of wheel rubbing!!

Excellent day tho & once I remembered its not a 540 & using the throttle & gears is a good thing I had a ball & it made me remember why I wanted it.

Just so you know its a 1990 Sth African 325i Schnitzer done 172ks.

Its auto but wont be for much longer.

Apart from a few minor gremlins like rear windows (& wipers)which have a mind of their own,its in excellent nick-better than I had hoped.

So today my brother & I got out the Mothers 3 step & some $7.99 shoe leather conditioner(the leather was quite crazed)(thanks to RJS? for the thread) & this is the result.

Awesome Car!

You did a great job cleaning it up. What product did you use on the black trim?

Sooo jealous mate... wish this was my thread! :D

Needs a drop in the front eh? Noticed that when I looked at it, apparently the last owner put stiff lowering springs in the back when he had 16's on the car to stop rubbing. Weird logic I thought.

Good job on the clean up too, looks shiny.

Its going to have be this-I just had a look at the spare 17s for the 540 & one of them is pretty thin & I havent replaced the 18 I blew yet-they dont call me Arkwright for nothing haha.

Thanks for fixing the pix-I secretly hoped you might

Nothing like a foot in both camps & yes it is.

We accidently found that the mothers step 2 & then 3(caranuba polish) worked on the trim too-obviously a different plastic to the 540s.

Hey Mark

I was going to do another thread titled "My girl sits funny" Yeah you're right it does-any suggestions?

I thought the logic was a little off too.

It looks like its spent some time on gravel roads eh-quite a few chips down the sides which is a liitle strange.

Hmmmm, did the guy include the standard springs?

Rear height actually looks good, just need to match it in the front. If you have the standard springs you may be able to measure the lowering amount and get some matching springs for the front.

Looks like a Citroen 2CV at the moment, needs some attention! :D
