OLLIE 26 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 Sorry Brian There is a bit of SPAM lately and we are working on a solution. basically it is difficult when the spammers are actually people sitting at a PC and not bots.

pjay 8 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Why would you click that? Your interweb IQ is low I'm afraid. That's a bit crude. Your people skills are a bit low there matey I bet Brian didnt grow up with the internets and porn and playstations and xbox's and huge shopping malls. Different generations know different things. Have some respect Edit.. I am impressed Brian used "WTF" though Edited April 22, 2009 by Pjay
|ncary 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 He seems to have made a decent amount of threads with uploaded photos and cut/pasted paragraphs. Must have a fair bit of clue up there. When you hover over a link and it says down the bottom of the browser 'http://hbgejnbeuivb.dciuf.com', it's wise to not click really.

Spamming is incredibly lucrative, hence it's so prolific. Spamming methods have become quite sophisticated in order to keep up with changing anti-spam technologies. bravo 35 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 You mean too. Brian and any others, as Incary says, if you get a PM or email from someone you don't know here are some obvious pointers it is spam: The username will be one you havn't seen on the forum before. If it has already been spotted by admin it will be from "Deleted User" The number of posts the user has made will be zero or very few. The subject will be non-comittal, generic, or not make sense. Ditto with the message text. There will be a link that you are encouraged to click. If you hover your mouse over the link without clicking the address appears at the bottom left of your browser window. Do not click on links that have addresses that are not obvious what sort of site it is, or end in less-common domain codes like .ru etc DO NOT CLICK, just delete the message.
