mac4 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 damn, after dismantling my gearbox out of my 635 csi to replace the bearings ,I am now told BMW no longer stocking parts for obsolete models . Cant scource them anywhere else even Getrag not interested .Still cant blame them , all other manufactureres long since stopped stocking old model parts . Guess bowing to worldwide government pressure to have us all driving new computerised ,disposable boxes on wheels .At least the yanks have enough demand to support an aftermarket buisness remaking everything for old chevs & Fords .Maybe I will buy a old Mustang next .Luckily I kept all old bearings so can put it back together . jochen 4 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) The older BMWs are a little bit harder to get parts for, sometimes you have to make your own... (No, that's not me driving through the Swiss alps, my driving hat is a different shade of tan) Edited June 21, 2009 by jochen

Have you tried bearing suppliers like SKF or Saeco ??? They might not have them all here in NZ, but they will sorce them for you. Just give them the bearing numbers or bearing measurements. Worth a try

3series 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) did you ring the guys suggested? or are you just given up dealing with specialist parts companies. Bearing companies want the business and should be able to offer you some advice as to where to get them. Edited June 26, 2009 by bmw3
