martyyn 2 Report post Posted July 15, 2009 Picked the car up an hour ago and I have my first issue. Warm air coming through the vents etc, but the temp guage didnt go above the blue the whole trip back to Wellington. About 15 mins on the motorway and then five mins city driving. By the time I got home it was a little warmer but not by much. Now the heat out of the vents was warm but I wouldnt say it was hot. So is this likely to be the water pump on its way out ? Ill have a fiddle with the hoses tomorrow to ensure the water is all going round but as I get warm air in the cabin I wouldve thought that was a given. Was a great drive though, its like a sewing machine ! Cant remember the last time I kept a car above 5k revs
huff3r 347 Report post Posted July 15, 2009 Might pay ck the themostat, i had a similar issue in my E30 320i and it was just because the thermostat was stuck open, was still reaching 70ish degrees, but the guys at the parts shop i went to told me it should be 80. Temp gauge only covers a small range of degrees, and it turned out they were right then.
3 SERIES 93 Report post Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) Sounds very similar to a problem I had with mine a month or so back. Veejay from Page sorted it for me. 1/ The thermostat was shot. 2/ It was the wrong deg. From memory I think he replaced it with a 92deg thermostat. Problem sorted!
