charles28 138 Report post Posted October 11, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgX2ezcm2Zk Annoying video really hehe, as my workmate has a Vtec prelude and hes been going on about going to Ruapuna for the Drags to take me down, looks like I wouldn't be able to take him on in a drag race if they beat a M50 powered E30 lol, but hopefully Ruapuna Circuit Racing/track Day is a different story.. This may give me motivation to modify my 325i though

Guest FrantiC Report post Posted October 11, 2009 Hondas have sh*t all torque anyways and only power higher up in the rpm.. Atleast an m50 has decent power all the way through and rev's to 6500 or 7000rpm anyways. Does the m50 in that e30 have Vanos?

dirtydoogle 383 Report post Posted October 11, 2009 Hondas have sh*t all torque anyways and only power higher up in the rpm..I don't like Honda's but many of their silly VTEC engines actually have very flat torque curves and produce reasonable torque to liter outputs. The VANOS is working towards the same goal as Veeeeeeeeeeetec. We shall pretend this video never happened
antil33t 90 Report post Posted October 11, 2009 At least the guy in the E30 doesn't have to drive a Honda. Rather have a slow-torquey motor over one that requires 10,0000000rpm to produce any torque. Except when I'm offered to drive one, then It's fun.

|ncary 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2009 Reminds me why the Hondas are always the fastest N/A car down the front straight..
mark247 39 Report post Posted October 11, 2009 Just goes to show how much a difference a driver who knows how to change gears and launch well can make.

Apex 693 Report post Posted October 11, 2009 This thread is nearly as pointless as the Turbo or Supercharger thread! Yay for Mondays. Is this news that E30’s are slow?? Hell, a Prelude will almost beat a E30 M3!!! Holly sh*t and sacrilege did he just say that, E30 M3 are crazy fast though!! FFS its a Prelude, who cares!! Launch control is awesome, my car has it and it actually works. True story. Keep it up team, its a great contraceptive for the moderators.

antil33t 90 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 Be careful, I know I'd want to trade my prelude(If I had one) for your car
charles28 138 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 Hehe, i'd take the E30 over the prelude anyday, but I have to work with a guy that has a Prelude who goes on all day about how he's faster than this car, that car etc, typical Honda driver, theres nothing really wrong with Hondas, just the owners.. I actually had one of those Preludes 10 years ago when I was 20, I thought it was pretty good at the time, but now all I see is an ugly 90's Jap Coupe I think I can still beat him at circuit racing, his Prelude is on my youtube profile doing Ruapuna, took him 2:08 with the dipper, I don't think that will be hard to beat Sooner or later he's going to be on about me going to the drags, but I think I'll be busy that day. I didn't buy an E30 because they are quick, I like the shape and RWD config, it was also the last BMW that was designed the old fashioned way (E36 was Designed with CAD software). charles28 138 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 Just tell him that, if he doesn't understand he is obviously a tool. Yeah, hes one of those Tools that goes on about BMW meaning Breaks my Wallet etc. But personally I have found parts to be not that expensive and theres pages of e30 parts on trademe going cheap , how much difference did you notice going from M20B25 to M50B25?
