Uneven 7. Assess Are you peeking or have you already given up? Give it another try.... Look at each word carefully. You'll kick yourself when you discover the answer. This is so cool..... No, it is not that they all have at least 2 double letters.... Answer: In all of the words listed, if you take the first letter, place it at the end of the word, and then spell the word backwards, it will be the same word. Did you figure it out? Kaz 63 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 Here are some slightly different ones: These puzzles involve some novel way of thinking or looking at the problem from an unexpected viewpoint. The term 'lateral thinking' was coined by Edward de Bono to denote a problem-solving style that involves looking at the given situation from unexpected angles. It is the sort of thinking that computers cannot not do: creative and perceptual thinking. These puzzles can be more easily solved by applying new approaches and checking assumptions. 1. Rice Why do Chinese men eat more rice than Japanese men? 2. The Barrel There is a barrel with no lid and some beer in it. "This barrel is more than half full," said Chuck. "No it's not," say Joe. "It's less than half full." Without any measuring implements and without removing any beer from the barrel, how can they easily determine who is correct? 3. Monday A man rode into town on Monday. He stayed for three nights and then left on Monday. How come? 4.Switches Three switches outside a windowless room are connected to three light bulbs inside the room. How can you determine which switch is connected to which bulb if you are only allowed to enter the room once?
huff3r 347 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 4.Switches Three switches outside a windowless room are connected to three light bulbs inside the room. How can you determine which switch is connected to which bulb if you are only allowed to enter the room once? I know this one! Turn one switch on. This light bulb will be on. Leave one switch off. This light bulb will be off. Turn the last switch on for a short while, then turn it off. Enter the room, and one light will be on, one will be off, and another will be off but still warm from being on moments before
bmw_guy 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 4.Switches Three switches outside a windowless room are connected to three light bulbs inside the room. How can you determine which switch is connected to which bulb if you are only allowed to enter the room once? Switch one bulb on for sometime (5-8 mins) now switch it off. Switch on the other bulb and get in the room. Touch the bulbs and feel the warmth of the off bulb. The bulb which is hot is the bulb corresponding to the first switch that you turned on and the bulb which is ON right now is the one corresponding to the switch turned on. And naturally the third one is off Here are some slightly different ones: 2. The Barrel There is a barrel with no lid and some beer in it. "This barrel is more than half full," said Chuck. "No it's not," say Joe. "It's less than half full." Without any measuring implements and without removing any beer from the barrel, how can they easily determine who is correct? You must tip over the barrel until the beer hits the rim of the barrel, if they both can see the bottom then it is clearly less than half full? Here are some slightly different ones: 3. Monday A man rode into town on Monday. He stayed for three nights and then left on Monday. How come? head this one before, Monday is the name of the dudes horse
