yellow headlight film

hey guys im just wondering ive seen some e30s on the internet with yellow headlights and i rekon they look pretty cool and i was told i could use yellow film or tint of some sort?

anyone know where to get some so i can get this look :

Yellow lights won't pass warrants AFAIK.

And applying tint (Film or spray) to lenses also will make it fail a warrant. Although of course you could take it off for them etc. All depends on the testing officer.

But you can buy yellow tint film relatively easily from trade me or eBay. Repco or a place similar might also stock it.

thats kinda what i was hoping thats he'd see this post lol

but i like the look of the yellow lights makes it look kinda staunch :P ahah

and as said you could just peel them off for warrents ect if people get fussy about them

...or you could source some OEM French Highbeams, thatd be badass, they look 100x better than the vinyl IMO

yeh definatly how hard are they to find thought i like how yours turned out but as you say oem french lights would look 100x better n more the part.

i wonder if repco or supercheap has any yellow tint?

Massive thread dig - just looking through the WOF VIRM and the applicable Land Transport Rule (as you do), and discovered that headlights can potentially be yellow (I think):

3.2 Safety requirements for headlamps

3.2(1) When operated, a headlamp must emit a beam of light that

is substantially white or amber.

Anyone brave enough to try?

Note - I suspect you need to be careful around whether any mods are legal or not... (different to whether being yellow is legal or not).
