Apex 693 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 E39 (just) for me. Closely followed by E60. Reacon they look pretty staunch - particually Alpina as below The Alpina is biased on the 545i and is Supercharged.. Same straight line speed as an M5 but would be maimed on corners, different beast. OLLIE 26 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 But for me it's e39 ALLLL the way. The perfect balance between luxury and "rawness". +
Apex 693 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 Raw?? A lotus Elise is raw, the E28 is defrosted, E34 steamed, E39 boiled and the E60 in M-Mode, roasting the rest!
bellicose 9 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 E34 - The godfather of super saloons UMM don't think so lol. Although i wouldn't say no to to an E34 M5 as they are my favourite M5. I would much rather have one of these. Rarer, faster and more power. 377hp (281kw) 190mph (limited) 3.6 M5 311hp (232kw) 155mph (limited) 3.8 M5 335hp (250kw) 177mph (limited)
Driftit 2078 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 (edited) ^^^Its rare because it is FUGLY!!. I would take a pristine E28. E39's are common and cheap in good condition. I think I will buy one of these myself at some stage Edited November 21, 2009 by driftit

Apex 693 Report post Posted November 22, 2009 Check these out: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8571355053772227044# Muppet. Ours had all those features and I had no problem with it at all, nor would any of us, biggest problem I see is the operator, its easy to turn off the nav and set everything, maybe he is just to old to work it. Whenever he reviews a car he doesn't take in account that if you actually buy the car you will own it for more than a day, after a week all functions become second nature... How good does that V10 sound at 8,000rpm.
dirtydoogle 383 Report post Posted November 22, 2009 surely e28 M5 is closer...?I love E12's [obviously] But I would take an E34 over the E28. [Don't like the E28 interior]

Sick Puppy 1 Report post Posted November 22, 2009 This bad boy every time- and one day I hope to drive one! In the meantime I'll look to put my 535 back on the road, once we've gotten our new arrival sorted e34 m5 3.8 6 spd touringThis would be awesome, but I thought they never made these in RHD, and had to be modified? I could do with a Touring at the mo

kiwi328i 118 Report post Posted November 22, 2009 I voted E60, has to be the U.S version ZF six speed manual. It is fairly unique in having a v10 configuration, that doesnt share its engine with anything else bar the M6. The Manual cause it was from pressure in the U.S, which is one of the more ironic decisions to come from that part of the world. Otherwise the E39 would come in a close second.
