*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 and is there meant to be a spigget bush in the flywheel? Spigot bearing... try Brake & Trans...about $
bravo 35 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 He knows it's an m20. M6/M8 is the bolt size specification (6mm and 8mm shanks on the bolts respectively. Should be stamped into the bolt heads, otherwise measure.) Edit - damn you ARE fast Glenn, beat me by a hair!
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 Make sure you have the bearing in there.. And you bang it all the way in, Some people just tap it in a little bit but it is meant to go all the way in (Get a socket that matches the outer race of the bearing and tap it in, don't force it in with the inner race). *Glenn* 854 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 The next question is probably going to be .....How do I line up the clutch plate With a clutch alignment tool or a screw driver...... you need a good eye to do that
DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2009 M6= 6mm bolts M8= 8mm bolts we use to have fun with the new guys and drilling holes for m8 and m10 bolts... so many would drill a 8 or 10mm hole... then wonder why the bolt didn't properly.
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 The next question is probably going to be .....How do I line up the clutch plate With a clutch alignment tool or a screw driver...... you need a good eye to do that I have always done mine by eye, Done it so many times I am pretty good at it lol. 1st time I used a plastic clutch alignment tool, They aren't that great to use. bravo 35 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 I found the plastic one better than my $80 one! No effing about getting the right spigot and so on. I keep a plastic one in my tool box and glare at my expensive alignment tool hoping one day that I'll need to use it before it rusts. Edit: Actually I don't think it was $150... mark247 39 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 Plastic ones are good. I think they sometimes come with the clutch kit.
