Fixed Back Bucket Seats

I'm looking for any advice or past experiences anyone might have about fixed back bucket seats so any information you can provide would be much appreciated.

I have an e36 325i and am looking into putting in a fixed back bucket seat in. However, my dad uses the car a lot as well, so we would like to keep the original electronic seat controls. I'm unsure whether or not this is possible and if I will need to get a special adaptor bracket or if the one that comes with the seat will do the job??

The final thing I'm not sure about is if the seat will need to be cerified or not after I put it in?

if it is a 2 door and you have 2 fixed back bucket seats in the front you will need to have your car registered as a 2 seater

Yup exactly I knew I'd lose reclining, but I was hoping I would be able to keep the forward/back movement, as well as up and down. Although I just thought I'd keep those two movements since I assumed they must both act on the bottom rail but not sure.

Here's a idea I have made visual for you all. Probably been done before. I'd get this done, however, it would be pointless once a cage comes!

The seatbelt wouldn't be attached to a bucket seat anyway would it? You'd have to make a new mounting point on the trans tunnel. Unless you used stock rails, which I personally wouldn't, they are sh*t.

Although I remember the old Mk1/2 Escort seats folded forward on a hinge at the front. They didn't have catches at the back, they just sat on the floor ha.

Definitely an interesting idea, but yup not quite what I'm after. The escort hinged seats is the same design as in the original minis, roughly, isnt it??

The only way to get arround this problem is to remove the seat and have a look at whats available to you in terms of attachment points and seat belt location/routing. If you do pull the seat take some pics and post em up so we can chuck some ideas arround otherwise we are all guessing.
