Any others that are original ? Sport Evo's Phil I know of 2, both black, both have current WOF's and Reg's in NZ, one is RHD and i believe its the car that has the modded induction system. Oh, and Ive seen one rep in Auckland on dealer plates, I spotted that at parked on the side of a road outside of a dealer near some ice skating ring then again in a private garage on a main road on the North Shore. philwalter 30 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 Is anyone an expert on the LTSA importation laws - there seem to be so many variables !! Could you import an 1990 E30 M3 and register it here ? Is it classed as 'special' enough to be exempt from rules regarding LHD, emmissions and frontal impact requirements ?
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 I would contact the LTSA directly.

Is it classed as 'special' enough to be exempt from rules regarding LHD, emmissions and frontal impact requirements ?As soon as it gets to 20 years old it is exempt from all the LHD, emissions and frontal impact rules. So as long as the vehicle was first REGISTERED more than 20 years ago when it ARRIVES in NZ you will be Ok. Need to start looking for an early '90 reg'd model, or wait a while. Apex 693 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 There were only 600 made, how many remain is unknown, finding one and buying one in NZD will work out quite expensive so keep in mind that you will need circa $80,000NZD to find and purchase one that’s in good condition. Good luck.

Apex 693 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 That is simply not fair. Looks like a RS200 and a 190e Evolution on the truck as well. Funny that the two NZ cars are so close in build numbers if they were not imported new.

Golfboy666GTI 68 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 The old boy has been toying with the idea of selling his E30 M3 2.3 and buying a Sport Evo. I found him a red one off shore done 66,000kms. I enqired about a price. Came back at $86,000NZ. Then ad the costs of importing it, GST, getting the car on the road. I dont think he would get any change from $100,000. For this reason hes going to stick with his 2.3.
uhlsta 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 (edited) Wholly god damn. Just read that whole topic on e30Zone. Everyone was doubting him. philwalter 30 Report post Posted March 17, 2010 What are the chances ?? After starting this thread, I literally walked out my door this morning and there was the LHD one !! What a stunner....I wanted to leave my number, but realised I was kidding myself thinking I might be able to afford it if it was ever up for sale.
