M325i Spring help.

This is a showroom, question and WTB thread so I put it in general discussion for lots of exposure BFH style. Please move if it’s in the wrong place. Sorry.

Need a pair of M325i front springs please. Offering $100 for the pair must be M325i springs. If you try and sell me otherwise you will have them returned in an uncomfortable manor.

Failing that I can get some, would anyone with the wisdom be able to tell me if the E30 Series King Springs will fit my car?? Also, are they a lowering spring and how low do they go..

Reason I need them when I already have a M325i you ask?

…After failing to source some H&R’s and unable to get anything that will only lower the car only 20mm I sent mine to Archers springs to have 20mm taken out of them, big mistake, they are now like a slinky, apparently they don’t have a ruler and 20mm means 70mm, they have lost all rate and its driving like a complete piece of sh*t.

Just raking the garage with its rakeness…

Any help appreciated as I would really like to get them in and take if for a decent drive, have had it a month now and it hasn’t been on an outing.

Any idea on the series springs guys?? an optimum stance would be -20mm front and if the series springs are stiff that would be a real bonus.

bang on the bump stops though unfortunately, and it rubs the guards too…im too old for those two compromises.

I like driving hard and as it sits I can’t do that, it bottoms out and rubs on the guards and is embarrassing. Compressing the spring looks to have untentioned the spring rate, what I was looking for was a mild drop. I am looking at E30 Series king springs as an alternative to H&R or Eibach that are not available in NZ for months.

Have a set of M325i springs here, rears arent being used but the fronts are right now. Will be pulled to be sold in a few weeks if you still havent found anything by then. I dont think the rear M325i springs lower at all though? I never actually installed them. The fronts drop about 20mm as you say

How far is the sump off the ground? Because i cant tell you how much drop the race series springs are, but they leave the sump at 105-115ish mms off the ground... and are nice and stiff too, but they are also progressive springs for an added bonus

I got them through work when i worked for supercheap, cant say how much i paid for them tho haha... Im not sure where anyone else got theirs from, but I think theres a few people down here who run race-series suspension.. Coupled with the race series Konis and they are just magic (as long as you dont have to go through roadworks everyday )

Just look at some photos of the race series cars. They are much lighter than a road car too, so maybe sitting a little higher than yours would.

I have found over a year of racing the springs have settled to quite a nice height.

And yes they will fit your car. But don't expect it to handle like a series car. Unless you upgrade the old shocks too. Stock E30 shocks are a big let down.

Have a full set of Bilstein springs, front and rear, quite low, $180.

Also a pair of front King springs, not quite so low, $100, you're welcome to try before you buy if you want Graham.

Just a quick follow up on this.

The Six Cylinder spec BMW E30 Series springs are excellent, they give modest drop yet are stiff enough to let the stock shocks operate properly with no bottoming out of the shocks or the car driven fast on some of the ugliest roads imaginable, they have improved the handling vastly, they do communicate a lot through the chassis on the really rough stuff being quite stiff so they may not suit the soft at hart but were fine on 90% of the roads I covered over 300km today.
