DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 See if you can blind mount the top face of the butterfly, get rid of the top mounting bar and countersink the screws into the butterfly. You will get a noticeable improvement in flow through the body. The Mivec boys have done it a couple times on their 60mm throttle body (single) and it gives the same flow performance as the bored out 63mm throttle body (single) that they where doing as a modification. This is what i'm refering to:
kerry 10 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) hmmmm seems like a good idea but if it was that great a deal im sure bmw would have done it?.....would probably do it if it was single tb. will have a look at it though Edited June 22, 2010 by kerry

MLM 57 Report post Posted June 29, 2010 Awesome project, go the N/A power! A couple of questions for ya, Does the M42 oil filter element provide enough volumetric oil flow for your engine? This will be difficult to measure I guess as I dont know how the system is laid out. Oil pressure before the filter might not indicate enough flow flow through the filter? Plenty of pressure after the filter would indicate things are all well? just some random thoughts Also what ignition system are you using? wasted spark/individual, and what are you using for igniters? Again awesome project
kerry 10 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 thanks man.. its not a big difference between the 2 filters (only height) so im not to worried as long as the pressure remains the same which im sure it will . im going to be running 1 6 channel igniter off a 300zx and im guessing that is individual spark over waisted which im told is better and easyer so fingers crossed this weekend will bring more photos for ya. *Glenn* 855 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 Can't you modify the plenum to fit Kerry ? or are you going to have one custom made from carbon fibre ?
kerry 10 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 i could but i feel it would better someone else as opposed to me hacking it up.. at this stage i just have some socks for the tapered stacks ive had made , will make me a plenum later on as this project is sucking me dry
