huff3r 347 Report post Posted February 1, 2011 they don't do daily driven so don't know how that effects your car. Vero is there under writter so you could go through them maybe instead. Last time we went to Vero they wanted $2000 to insure a 2004 Corolla. State did it for $600. And we had a ridiculously large sum of property insured with Vero too. And yeah, Classic wouldnt insure me cos of my age either.

Gotheschu 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2011 Little progress report. Im sick of being a spectator at the BMW meets..... So the race is on to get to Hampton So. Monday Night: Whole new race exhaust system going in. Tuesday Arvo: 4:1 Diff, Dyno Tune ( not sure where yet lol ) Wednesday night: Few small things to sort out, body seal. Little rust. Some time this week, off to Sign writer for number and series decals to be put on. Shopping list: New set of R888s, Koni Shocks all round ( might hire some ), transponder, short shifter ( RAY! ), gear shifter rubber boot thing. Have I missed anything? Gotheschu 1 Report post Posted February 26, 2011 Went on the dyno today........ 83.2bhp at the wheels at the start, some how went to 92.1 but its rev limiting at 5100rpm, with a f**ked distributor cap and rotor. Only did 2 runs but no point doing timing etc with that. Anyone got one =)
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted February 26, 2011 Cool. Probably no point in putting a second hand one in. A new cap is about $150 and rotor is FA. I do have one which works but isn't that great.
Gotheschu 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2011 Proof you can use your BMW race car for shopping =) Preparing the struts for the Koni's And can anyone see a problem with Repco's idea of a BMW E30 Straight 6 Distributor cap?

JiB 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2011 I have had 3 of cars with Classic Cover since I was 21. Just don't be a muppet to them on the phone, and they're very very nice people. Highly recommended! @ OP, maybe next time mask off the hubs and threaded bits in your suspension? I wouldn't like to mount my discs or wheels to painted hubs! DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2011 I wouldn't like to mount my discs or wheels to painted hubs! My 2c SAND OFF THE PAINT NOW!!!!!! The paint will expand with heat and your wheel bolts will loosen and you could have your wheel fall off... Never paint hub faces, inside wheel faces, etc... basically mounting faces. Gotheschu 1 Report post Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Realised something last Friday at Hampton in the pouring rain. My blower doesn't work. Panel beater snapped tabs off the unit itself so I have no control panel or module. But I put the factory toggle switch in and nothing happened on 1, 2 ,3, or 4 settings. So any ideas on how I go about this. I have the parts car with working blower but really want to avoid having to pull the race cars dash out again! and it will be a bitch to remove the race cars fan unit with the dash bar going in front of it so pretty much pinning the unit to the firewall. Gotheschu 1 Report post Posted March 11, 2011 Semi Slicks on =D Feels weird to drive now. Feels fairly light, dunno if thats the tires or just me. Couldn't get them to balance as they are used I think and the wear on the tire just didn't wanna balance. But cars pretty much ready. Painted towing eyes the needed RED which looks pretty cool
