kingkarl 136 Report post Posted September 29, 2010 Would the extra weight be worth it for a racecar? I mean m60b40 vs m70 is pretty close in terms of power.

Mike 1 Report post Posted September 29, 2010 Would the extra weight be worth it for a racecar? I mean m60b40 vs m70 is pretty close in terms of power. probably not but V12 is much more badass than v8 so I'd live with it

KBM 5 Report post Posted September 30, 2010 Who cares if its competitive or not, it would be mean fun to drive. Polley, you hit the nail on the head, hence the idea to build it......Fun +gst! I will try to cover the questions asked, mainly built to run on gravel......just because! targa maybe, if we can make it reliable, mechanically not a big deal to fit, but wiring was a bit of stress, cheers MT I'm sure we'll get it along to a practice day or two for the bmw meets but not allowed to enter as David said because it was not a factory option, as for the v8 versa's v12? nothing sounds as phat as a v12 I'm sorry, enough said! will post some video stuff on you tube post the rally this weekend, glad you like it, cheers, KB. KBM 5 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 Hi Kayne, what gearbox did you use? Ian Hi Ian, we used a 265 Getrag (bolt on bell housing type) it came out of a US e30 m3, was just a cheap easy option and from experience they are pretty tough, KB.
Creaver 55 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 Nice. How did you sort out the bellhousing? Take an auto and chop it off/weld? Would love to see the car in action some time!
KBM 5 Report post Posted October 2, 2010 Nice. How did you sort out the bellhousing? Take an auto and chop it off/weld? Would love to see the car in action some time! Yip just cut and weld, it was the the most expensive part of the whole car, that and the clutch/flywheel, but it was worth it, it feels awesome as a manual, I hope to have it at some track days soonish, KB.
