Cody 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 (edited) Hey all I just purchased my first car, a 1989 BMW 318i and i love it! Only thing is, it has come with this bumper that is just far too low for me and just generally provides a hassle when it comes to driveways, carparks etc so im on the lookout for a front bumper. Im not too sure what to look for as im new to BMW's but anything that will fit on the front in this colour would be adequate? Im located on the North Shore also. Thanks for all help provided, Cody. (Uploaded a pic of my car, hopefully the link works? :/) Edited November 9, 2010 by Cody

Shady 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Yeah thats FL mate. Previous owner is on here (not a regular member) as he posted this car up a while ago as new member. What did you score it for? I saw it on TM. I got a near mint front bumper, just needs a paint (is black plastic) with all the trims attached & will include the support bar inside it. $30 (but pickup is Hamilton). Cody 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Ahh thankyou for the reply Shady, i had heard that there are bumpers that are "facelift" and "pre facelift" so thankyou for clarifying what i need. Got it for 2.5, was looking at Jap cars in the same price range and happened to come across that and decided i HAD to get it, never looked back since I need a bumper of the same color and one that has indicators (might be a stupid statement) but i've seen some without them. Cheers all!

Cody 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Thats really generous of you Blackie, and greatly appreciated! How hard would it be to convert it to the color of my car if you have any idea? Thanks man.
Lucan 196 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 You'll be hard pressed to find a bumper in that colour. Either way you'll need to paint it. p.s. leave the center strip black, I think you'll like the look more. The pic that started my E30 addiction. antil33t 90 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 I reckon the rest of that car would suit having stock bumpers and an IS Lip. GL painting bumpers is easy, don't ask me I'm too lazy to paint my new one that's in the garage.

E36ShoppingTrolley 7 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Re: Painting Spose you could have a chat with a local panelbeater. dumb idea, panelbeater will go to the local plastic painter, get it done by him and charge you more, had it happen. unless of course the panelbeater paints himself. Lucan 196 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 My 2c. 1) It's an E30 2) Getting a pro to do anything is usually expsensive. = Go to a paint shop that sells custom coloured spray cans, DIY that bish. You'll gain valuable experience doing this youself, won't cost a bomb and will be a little more satisfied when the jobs done.
gouba 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Wairau Paint centre can match your color paint and chuck it into a spray can, set up a make shift booth do a decent prep and do light consistent layers, chuck a clear on and you are set.
gouba 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Also awesome photo, do you have any more? What color is that?
Lucan 196 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Will find the whole thread bout it when I get home. Its Delphin Metallic (grey) or something along those lines, my E30 used to be that colour before it went cosmo

Locate IS lip and paint it to match your Tech-II lower side skirts. Done. IMHO of course. f**k I want another E30, why must they be so alluring.
