My New E39!

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Ive been on here a while but i have recently sold my E36 and gone to a E39, so thought i would introduce the new wife.

She is a NZ New 530i Msport with all her Service booklet stamped. Done 76k and has a full black leather interior with the later Msport steering wheel.

Might come along to the Cornwall park meet at the weekend.

Anyway here she is.

PS thanks to MSpec and Hotwire for Helping me out in my search!

Looks great, Matt! Amazing what a bit've patience when buying a car brings ae. You know when the right one comes along :)

Come along to the meet on Saturday. I'm definitely comin' out and I'm fairly sure another E39 530 is coming as well. Triple photoshoot ? Haha

sounds like a plan! ... yea im glad i got one with leather ... it is missing a couple of things i would have liked (sunroof) but from what i have seen over the last couple of months looking it is very difficult to get everything i wanted. Happy with it regardless :D

Basic Mods:

Tints

Whiter headlight bulbs (any recommendations?)

Hardwire V1

Slightly more expensive mods:

Look at speaker replacement

Possibly a Dynavin H/U or some sort of ipod intergration/AUX (have the standard business stereo currently)

Was quoted $350 (iirc) by Rapid Radio to hardwire an AUX through the glovebox in my 01. Seems like a much better decision to get the DICE unit from gadgets4u.co.nz Here is an email from him:

Hi Tristan,

>

> Audio only is the Dice Silverline kit at $270 inc GST.

> The cradles are $105 inc GST.

> The kits are ex-stock in Auckland and come with a 12 month replacement

> warranty.

>

> The kit is fairly easy to install and full instruction are included.

> I'm based on the North Shore and can install it for you if you prefer.

> The installation cost would depend where you want it located.

>

> If you would like to see the kit in action, I own an E39 540 with it

> installed in the centre console.

You could go HID if you want whiter lights, its the only way to get really nice white.

But there are a few brands of Halogen bulbs that create quite a nice white like. Narva super blue bulbs from Repco come out plain bright white, with a small bit of blue. I used them in my E36 and worked quite nicely.

E39 cruise, could be this cool....

If I saw that sh*t comin' I'd be like :o then I'd be like

E39s this weekend could be RJS, Matt, Molehole and myself. +more idk?

That'd look insane.

Edit:

That photo was made infinitely cooler when the theme of Pearl Harbour came on shuffle when I looked at it.
